This murder mystery experience is designed to be easy to run and fun to play for all the guests involved. The game is
played with all of your guests having active roles in the game and each guest having objectives to complete. These objectives
keep the party from being pre-scripted and allow your guests to draw their own conclusions as to the motives and the
identity of the murderer. This format also allows for great mingling amongst your guests and ensures that all of your guests
feel included. Before the night is through, each guest will have discovered that they have a motive for killing the victim and
be inclined to protect their innocence as well as seek out the murderer. To add to the experience and suspense of the night,
the murder happens during the party, not before, as in some other murder mystery games. The victim is also allowed to play
along after they ‘die,’ since they do not know who murdered them. Ho Ho Homicide is certain to be a hit with all of your
guests.
The following pages contain a simple list of things you need to do as host in order to have the party run smoothly. Once
the party is going, it is up to the guests to make the most of it—something you will be surprised at how well they do.
• If you choose NOT to know the murderer, you can simply choose NOT to read the character descriptions or ex-
amine the evidence before the party. While you will be able to play along with everyone else, you will not be able
to read the descriptions when assigning the characters. (You will find a short list of the characters with descrip-
tions on the next page.)
• Because this party is dependent on at least 8 people showing up, you may want to determine ahead of time
which guests are attending before assigning characters.
• It is recommended that you send out the general invite, guest list and “Holiday Times” page with an RSVP date
of two weeks before the party. After your guests RSVP positive, you can send them their character sheet.
• The killer will not know they are the murderer until they open their second envelope at the party.
• The victim will not know they are the victim until they get to the party. The victim will not have a list of objectives
for after the murder. If the victim wishes to play along after the murder, they can do so without an identity. If you
have an extra identity (that is, a role that is not being played), they can also assume that identity if they so choose.
• If you are short of 12 guests, the game can be played without the following characters: Sparky, Cupid, Mrs. Claus
and Dasher (eliminating Sparky first, Cupid second, etc.). If Sparky has been eliminated, the victim will assume that
role after death.
• Good suggestions for assigning couples include: Santa and Mrs. Claus, Cupid and Dasher or Dusty.
• Is this mystery suitable for youths and/or church groups? Yes. There is reference to drinking eggnog, but it is
explained in the materials that eggnog has “disorienting effects” for reindeer.
• You may want to serve eggnog at your party. There are some objectives where having eggnog at the party will ben-
efit the story line.

Have the (A) & (B) envelopes on hand to give to the guests as they arrive.
• In a separate envelope place the Investigation sheet and label it as “Investigation.”
• In a separate envelope place the Evidence Presentation and Exhibit B and label it as “Evidence.”
• Place the solution in a sealed envelope and label it “Solution.”
• Keep the “introduction,” the “investigation envelope,” the “evidence envelope” and the “solution envelope” in a safe and
convenient location so you can hand them out throughout the night as guests need them.
• Make enough copies of the Who Dunnit voting sheets for the number of guests you have coming. Cut the pages along
the dashed lines.
• Make copies of the smoking gun award, as there may be multiple people who guess the murderer.
– You can print or photocopy the certificates onto parchment paper for a more official look.
• The party may be longer if you choose to serve dinner, although much of the mingling done during Stage 2 may be
done at the dinner table as well.
• Because the party is not pre-scripted, but set up in stages, as host it is important to observe the guests’ behavior and
move onto the next stage when you feel it is most appropriate. This will give everyone enough time to enjoy all aspects
of the party and enable it to move along at an enjoyable pace.

Why, hello, to all of my North Pole comrades! I hope you are enjoying this extra holly, extra
jolly holiday party that I have concocted for you all. As you all know, Christmas is a special
time for everyone, especially for those of us here at the North Pole and I wanted to provide an
experience that would get us all in the most spirited of moods! Although you should all know me,
I will go ahead and introduce myself. I am Santa Claus, your fearless leader of all of the North
Pole operations and I want to thank you all for taking the time to be here tonight. With the help
of others, I have planned this evening full of excitement and memories to last a lifetime.
Throughout the night, I am going to ask that you please keep your eye out for those going
above and beyond to make this evening outrageous and unique. Along with the other festivities
in store for you tonight, you will also be asked to vote on those here tonight who have made your
night most enjoyable by their outfit and their acting ability. In addition, there will be an award
for the person who has the most money at the end of the night. As you may not know, bribery,
extortion, blackmail and whatever creative means you may think of to use your money are not only
expected, but encouraged.
Once again, I am very excited that you were all able to make it here tonight to celebrate the
upcoming Christmas season. I am sure that each and every one of you has a special place and
purpose in the North Pole, as well as for the evening ahead. Please feel free to continue your night
of secrecy and scandals by getting better acquainted with your fellow party-goers.
As you can all see, there was a murder that just occurred amongst us all. The victim is Jingle,
the head elf.
At this time, I need to ask for your full cooperation in this investigation. It is imperative that
no one leave the premises as you are all considered suspects.
You received a sealed envelope at the beginning of the night. You will want to open and read
that information carefully when I am done. The envelope that you are opening will contain
information, evidence and objectives to help you conduct your own investigation. For some of
you, it will give you bargaining and blackmailing power. For one of you, it will contain the secret
that you indeed ARE the murderer. Conduct your investigation wisely and be careful about which
secrets you reveal. It is now that you will try to uncover the possible motives that each of you may
have for wanting Jingle dead.
After I have questioned some of you and conducted my own investigation into this crime, I
will be presenting the tangible evidence that I have discovered. Everyone will then get a chance
to examine the evidence before you make a final accusation as to who the killer is. Until then, I
suggest you conduct your own investigation by questioning each other.
Thank you, and I will be addressing you when I have compiled the available evidence to show
you. Until then, start sleuthing!
Acting and Dressing Your Part: As the leader of the North Pole operations, you will want to be both
authoritative and kind to your guests. While you realize that everyone does contribute to making the North Pole
mission successful, your legacy is on the line and you want everyone to remember that. To the party, you will want to
come dressed in a red suit adorned with white fur. If you do not already have a beard, white hair and a plump belly,
those are essential ingredients for your costume and identity. For more ideas on how to dress, accessorize, etc., please

Ho Ho Homicide
Mrs. Claus
As Santa’s wife, your duties are wide and varied. Being the matriarch of the North Pole, not only do you
provide for your husband, but you keep a close, motherly eye on the elves and the reindeer at the North Pole.
Over the years, you have helped Santa to foster a loving and caring environment capable of delivering toys
to all of the girls and boys worldwide. Unfortunately, due to the growing population, new technology and an
increase in the materialistic and self-indulgent perspectives regarding Christmas, production at the North Pole
is anticipated to fall short of the demand this year—something that would tarnish Santa’s legacy. Fearing this
outcome, Santa has vowed to review all of the processes at the North Pole and to make changes that improve
efficiency.
While delivering treats to the elves, you have heard rumors that Santa and Jingle (the head elf ) may be
purchasing toy design plans from Matteo (a major toy company). Since part of Santa’s legacy is dependent on
all of the toys being original creations from the elves, if discovered, this would certainly put Santa’s reputation
at risk. Considering how the stress of the situation has been weighing on Santa, you feel it is your job to make
sure that he does not do anything drastic which could ruin his legacy forever!
As the Holly, Jolly Christmas Party quickly approaches, you are excited to attend. Santa has planned the
party to boost the morale at the North Pole, as well as to gain information on how to best improve the situa-
tion. You plan to use the party to make sure that Santa (or anyone else) does nothing to jeopardize your legacy!
Acting and Dressing Your Part: As the maternal figure for many at the party, you possess a kind and
giving nature. However, when people cross you or your family, you will do whatever it takes to preserve your
family stability and the legacy that you have created. To the party, you will want to wear a red dress with white
fur trim, a bonnet, specs and any other accessories that identify you as Mrs. Claus. For more ideas on how to
dress, accessorize, etc., please check nightofmystery.com and/or hohohomicide.com

Jingle
As the head elf, you consider yourself a key element to the success of the North Pole. While Santa is ulti-
mately in charge, he often relies heavily on your input and suggestions to make decisions. As the North Pole
operations have grown over time, so have your duties. While you oversee everything, you have delegated many
of the responsibilities from the toy design (taken care of by Jangle, the toy designer) to the reindeer care and
training (taken care of by Bouncy).
Currently, Santa has also placed you in charge of an accident investigation. A week ago, Daffy (an elf )
was carelessly trampled by a reindeer leaving him in a coma. The guilty party has not come forward to ac-
cept responsibility for the wrongdoing and it is your duty to find and reprimand the culprit by removing their
flying privileges. Because of his speed, Dasher is the main suspect followed closely by Rudolph (a red-nosed
reindeer). With both reindeer being an integral part of the Christmas Eve sleigh team, you hope that the true
culprit will turn out to be another reindeer. Being one of Santa’s favorites, having to reprimand Rudolph would
upset Santa greatly—something you do not wish to do. Conversely, it would please Bouncy (the elf in charge of
the reindeer) if Rudolph were removed from the sleigh team. Bouncy insists that Dusty (a young buck) is faster
and a harder worker, but you refuse to replace Rudolph unless he is found guilty.
Unfortunately with the growing global population and desire for more toys, the demand is starting to
exceed the production at the North Pole. This has Santa concerned about the need to improve sleigh speed and
the productivity in the workshop. While you have assured Santa that you are doing everything to maximize
productivity, Santa has insisted that a formal investigation occur to identify discrepancies and needed improve-
ments.
After Santa’s announcement, many elves and reindeer have been very apprehensive about the changes that
will be made. Just the other day, you overheard Bouncy and Sparky (two elves) talking and both are vying for
your position as head elf. Additionally, you discovered that Jangle (the toy designer) was in talks with Matteo (a
toy producer) about selling the original toy plans for millions of dollars. Worried about your own job security,
you promised Jangle that you would keep their secret if Jangle would give you a share of their profits.
One reason you believe Santa may be pushing hard for change is because he plans to retire soon and has
worries about who might manage his legacy. While you have always been a favorite of Santa’s, Mrs. Claus is
not very fond of you. If you are going to be awarded the honor of continuing on Santa’s legacy, you will have to
work hard to gain the trust of Mrs. Claus.
As the season is getting underway, you are looking forward to the Holly, Jolly Christmas Party! You think it
will be a great way to boost morale amongst the elves and reindeer at the North Pole. Additionally, you hope to
reassure Santa of your leadership competency and cement a place in his heart.
Acting and Dressing Your Part: As the head elf, you always want to appear as if you are in charge. At
the party, you will be confident and deliberate in your actions. Moreover, you will do everything in your power
to convince Santa he needs you to continue as “head elf,” if he hopes to meet his goals of increasing North Pole
efficiency this year. To the party, you will want to dress in your elf attire. Among things you will want to con-
sider for your outfit are: striped stockings, Christmas sweaters, Christmas-themed accessories, a vest, pointed
shoes, a hat, and other red and green accessories. For more ideas on how to dress, accessorize, etc., please check night-

Jangle
As the head toy-designing elf, Santa has relied on you to produce the most current and creative toy designs
over the years. A large part of Santa’s legacy relies on how the toys are both designed and produced by North
Pole elves. As time has gone on, you have continued to develop toy design plans and kept up with the changing
demands of new generations.
With the growing global population’s demand for more toys at Christmas, there are rumors at the North
Pole that the demand for toys may exceed production this year. While you fear this may happen, you do not
believe—as some would suggest—that your toy designs are the problem. You believe the real fault lies in some
of the individuals that have grown lazy in their duties over the years, in particular, Jingle (the head elf ).
Earlier this week, Santa announced he would be investigating to find solutions for increasing productivity.
He says he will be implementing changes he believes are needed. Fearing being replaced as toy designer, you
contacted Matteo (a leading toy manufacturer) to see if they would want to buy exclusive rights to your toy
designs, and to hire you on as a toy designer. While you prefer to stay with your friends in the North Pole, if
your skills will not be appreciated, you will go elsewhere. In the midst of brokering a deal with Matteo, some
correspondence accidentally got delivered to Jingle and Jingle learned of your plan. Quickly, you convinced
Jingle that they needed you on their side to continue as head elf. Jingle agreed to keep quiet about your plans,
but only if you gave him a portion of your profits. You agreed, but only to keep Jingle from telling anyone of
your deal.
Luckily, there has been a great deal of commotion at the North Pole to deflect attention away from you.
Currently, both Bouncy and Sparky (two elves) both hope to replace Jingle as head elf. Bouncy is quite upset
that Jingle will not let Bouncy run the sleigh as Bouncy sees fit. Because of this, you think that Bouncy will try
hard to take over the position of “head elf.”
With the Holly, Jolly Christmas Party quickly approaching, you are looking forward to attending. At the
party, you hope to convince others that your toy designs are not the cause for the North Pole operations’ lack
of productivity. Additionally, you plan to discredit Jingle at the party, so that if he does divulge your secret, you
can paint him as a dishonest fellow.
Acting and Dressing Your Part: As an elf who fears losing their position, you are very gracious and
outgoing towards others. You plan to use the party to collect and spread any information that you can to
discredit Jingle’s character. For the party you will want to dress in your elf attire. Among things you will want
to consider for your outfit are: striped stockings, Christmas sweaters, Christmas-themed accessories, a vest,
curve-toed shoes, pointed ears, a hat, and any red and green accessories. Along with your outfit, you will want
to bring some tools for toy-making and toy-designing, such as a compass, protractor, toy plans, etc. For more
ideas on how to dress, accessorize, etc., please check nightofmystery.com and/or hohohomicide.com

Spanky
Because you are an impeccable judge of character, you are the elf in charge of creating and updating the
“naughty” and “nice”’ lists, which Santa uses when preparing the gifts everyone should receive at Christmas.
Despite popular opinion, there are some people who unexpectedly have been put on your naughty list,
including some of Santa’s closest confidants. Among the surprising names on the naughty list are Rudolph
(a red-nosed reindeer) and Jingle (the head elf ). Although Santa has always run a very efficient and lucrative
operation at the North Pole, lately these individuals have been taking advantage of their positions of privilege.
It appears that this year some of Santa’s confidants are not working as hard as they could be to make Christmas
a wonderful and spectacular holiday.
Normally, you have an impeccable ability to see the inherent good and evil in one’s personality, but you are
perplexed by Dusty, a young buck vying to be awarded a position on the sleigh team. Although all of the signs
indicate that Dusty has a good heart and soul, you have observed him sneaking off lately with Cupid (a girl
reindeer who is romantically involved with Dasher). You have decided to reserve judgment on both Dusty and
Cupid until you have more information.
Since the start of the Christmas season, tension in the North Pole has been rising. The mounting stress is
due to the fact that Santa has announced he will be reviewing the North Pole processes and will be making
adjustments to increase productivity. Along with many reindeer and elves desperate to keep their jobs or be
promoted in both the workshop and on the sleigh team, you are no different.
In addition to the children’s letters, you came across a letter from Matteo (a major toy company) addressed
to Jingle (the head elf ). Recently Santa has made it clear that he wishes to increase output in the workshop,
and that he will implement changes to achieve this goal. You worry that Jingle may be outsourcing toy plans
from Matteo to help Santa meet his goal and ensure his own position as head elf remains intact. A large part
of Santa’s legacy rests on the fact that the toys Santa delivers are designed and built by North Pole elves. If toy
designs and production plans were found to be outsourced, Jingle would be putting Santa’s legacy at risk. Since
you have noticed that Mrs. Claus (Santa’s wife) is very intent on making sure that Santa’s legacy remains intact
and prospering at all costs, you believe this is information that she would pay heavily for.
While you do not agree with Jingle’s tactics, you have decided to keep them a secret and use the informa-
tion to your advantage. Believing that Santa would have Jingle demoted if he found out about his wrong-
doings, you plan to blackmail Jingle. It will be interesting to see how much they are willing to sacrifice to keep
this secret. With both Bouncy and Sparky (two elves) vying for the head elf position, you have no doubt Jingle
will pay a healthy price for the same information. If they refuse, you intend to sell the information to one of
Jingle’s adversaries.
With the Holly, Jolly Christmas Party right around the corner, you are looking forward to attending. At
the party, you plan to observe others and gain information that will help you finalize your “naughty” and “nice”’
lists. Since many jobs are on the line, you plan to use your position of influence over Santa to advance yourself
financially and in job security at the North Pole.
Acting and Dressing Your Part: Being diplomatic, you are very even-tempered and congenial to-
ward everyone. Knowing that you wield a great deal of power, you use your position wisely and on occasion to
your advantage. For the party, you will want to bring your “naughty” and “nice” lists and dress in your seasonal
and festive elf attire. Among things you will want to consider for your outfit are: striped stockings, Christmas
sweaters, Christmas-themed accessories, a vest, your toy-making tools, curve-toed shoes, pointed ears, a hat,
and any red and green accessories. For more ideas on how to dress, accessorize, etc., please check nightofmystery.com

Bouncy
As the elf in charge of the reindeer, you take this responsibility very seriously. Among your duties, you feed
and exercise all of the reindeer making sure that they are all in good enough shape to swiftly guide Santa’s
sleigh come Christmas Eve night. While the North Pole is home to many reindeer, there is only enough
room on the sleigh team for the fastest nine reindeer. Thus, there is always a great deal of competition for the
sleigh team. While you have considerable influence in selecting the sleigh team, the ultimate decision lies with
Santa—who often looks to Jingle for guidance.
While you have enjoyed your job immensely for many years, lately it has become stressful. With the in-
creasing global population of children and rising demand for toys each year, Santa is trying to increase both
toy production and sleigh speed so he is able to deliver more toys to more houses. Knowing this, you have
recommended that Rudolph be removed from the sleigh team and replaced by Dusty (a very fast, young buck),
which will increase sleigh speed. Over the years, Rudolph’s celebrity status has made him difficult to work with.
Currently, Rudolph has been refusing to participate in speed drills and long training rides. This angers you and
the other reindeer, which is why you would like Rudolph removed from the team. However, Jingle has refused
to listen to your recommendations saying that Rudolph is an invaluable part of Santa’s legacy and cannot be
replaced. While you can respect that fact, you fear that you will lose your job if Jingle does not replace Rudolph
(what you see as the only way to increase sleigh speed).
In addition to the pressure to increase sleigh speed, you are under scrutiny to find the reindeer that tram-
pled Daffy (an elf ), leaving him in a coma. Just last week, Santa announced that the culprit will not be a mem-
ber of the sleigh team in the future and has assigned Jingle to lead the investigation into the accident. This
further complicates your position, since you cannot afford to lose one of your fastest reindeer (like Dasher)
from the sleigh team.
With growing discontent in the North Pole, you feel that the only way to set things right is if you would
become the “head elf.” While this would mean more responsibility for you, you are willing to take on the extra
duties if it means improving the conditions of the North Pole and keeping yourself happily working for Santa.
As the Holly, Jolly Christmas Party approaches, you are looking forward to attending. While Santa usu-
ally confides in Jingle, at the party you hope that you can convince Santa that Rudolph needs to be replaced to
make the Christmas Eve sleigh team faster. Additionally, you cannot wait to celebrate the spirit of the season
with your fellow North Pole comrades!
Acting and Dressing Your Part: Confident that you are doing what is best for the reindeer and Santa’s
sleigh, you will be bold and assertive in your actions and discussions at the party. While you don’t want to ap-
pear disgruntled, you will make it clear that you and Jingle do not agree on who should be on the sleigh team.
Additionally, you hope to gain some support in your quest to become the next “head elf.” For the party, you will
dress in your seasonal and festive elf attire. Among things you will want to consider for your outfit are: striped
stockings, Christmas sweaters, Christmas-themed accessories, a vest, curve-toed shoes, pointed ears, a hat, and
red and green accessories. Along with your attire, you may want to bring reindeer feed and/or treats along with
some leashes or a harness. For more ideas on how to dress, accessorize, etc., please check nightofmystery.com and/or

Sparky
As a very diligent and dedicated elf at the North Pole, you have always gone above and beyond to do
whatever Jingle (the head elf ) has asked. Over the years, you came to believe that Jingle was grooming you to
follow in their footsteps and become the “head elf.” Because of this, you continued to work hard without any
complaints. However, recently you realized that Jingle assigned you extra work simply so that they do not have
to take on such a heavy workload.
Angered by this realization, you started an independent campaign to become head elf. With the increase in
global population and the rising demand for toys, Santa is increasingly concerned about toy production. While
Jangle (the toy designer) is getting much of the blame for Santa’s workshop not keeping pace with the demand
for toys, you believe the loss of productivity is a result of Jingle’s mismanagement of the workshop. You are
confident you can increase productivity by efficiently and effectively managing the workshop without showing
favoritism.
Knowing that Mrs. Claus is equally concerned about the future of the North Pole operations, you plan to
recruit her support. From your observations, you have learned that she will do just about anything to make sure
Santa’s reputation is preserved.
As the Holly, Jolly Christmas Party approaches, you are looking forward to attending. With all of the in-
habitants of the North Pole present, you believe it will be a great place to highlight your leadership abilities and
prove to Santa that you would be a great “head elf.” Additionally, you are filled with Christmas spirit and you
can’t wait to share it!
Acting and Dressing Your Part: Since you are advocating for a promotion, you will want to be very
outgoing, positive, and direct in your nature. At the party you will want to win over your associates with your
charm and willingness to please. Additionally, you will need to be ready to take over and conduct an investiga-
tion if something happens. At the party, you will want to dress in your seasonal and festive elf attire. Among
things you will want to consider for your outfit are: striped stockings, Christmas sweaters, Christmas-themed
accessories, a vest, your toy-making tools, curve-toed shoes, pointed ears, a hat, and any red and green accesso-
ries. For more ideas on how to dress, accessorize, etc., please check nightofmystery.com and/or hohohomicide.com

Rudolph
As a young buck, you thought that you were cursed with a “glowing red nose.” Then one foggy Christmas
Eve Santa came to say, “Rudolph with your nose so bright, won’t you guide my sleigh tonight?” After that, you
were considered a hero, not only at the North Pole, but throughout the universe.
Year after year, you have continued to guide Santa’s sleigh on Christmas Eve and have become a global
legend. Along with your popularity, your ego and your sense of entitlement has increased, while your work
ethic and speed have decreased. Angered by your laziness and unwillingness to work, Bouncy (the reindeer elf )
has suggested that you be replaced on the sleigh team by Dusty (a much faster buck). However, because of your
legacy with Santa and your friendship with Jingle (the head elf ), he refuses to suggest that solution to Santa.
Even with your superstar status, there is one reindeer you cannot impress– Cupid (a very heart strong rein-
deer). Despite your romantic advances towards Cupid, she is not flattered by your attention and has stated that
she is in love with Dasher (a very fast and furious reindeer). You have warned Cupid that Dasher may be a very
dangerous reindeer.
Just last week, there was a late night accident where Daffy (an elf ) was trampled by a reindeer. While there
is limited evidence, Dasher’s speed has made him the prime suspect. Coincidentally, your own memories of
that fateful night are lost, leaving your innocence in question. Earlier that evening, you and Blitzen (another
reindeer) were drinking eggnog behind the barn (a prohibited activity). In the morning, you were unable to re-
call your late night actions. Together, you and Blitzen vowed to alibi one another, citing that you were working
together on speed drills at the time of the accident.
As the Christmas season is underway, you are excited about the upcoming Holly, Jolly Christmas Party.
Since Santa has vowed to make some changes to increase productivity in the North Pole this year, many elves
and reindeer are on edge. As one of Santa’s favorites, you feel your job is secure and you are looking forward
to the celebration. Additionally, you will be looking for ways to incriminate Dasher as the culprit in Daffy’s
accident. If you can prove that Dasher is guilty, you will not only clear your name, but you hope to gain Cupid’s
affection!
Acting and Dressing Your Part: As Santa’s favorite reindeer, you have become both spoiled and arro-
gant. Knowing that no one can ever replace you, you are confident in your abilities and are not afraid to flaunt
your status. For the party, you will want to bring eggnog to share. Additionally, you will dress in your reindeer
attire, which may include brown clothing, your famous red nose, antlers and jingle bells. For more ideas on how

Dasher
As the fastest reindeer at the North Pole, you have more than lived up to your name—Dasher. Despite your
phenomenal speed, you take your position on Santa’s sleigh team very seriously. You are aware that there are
many reindeer vying to be on the team and it angers you when members of the team take their position lightly.
In particular, Rudolph has become spoiled and lazy in recent years.
With the growing population and increased demand for toys, Santa has announced that he will be mak-
ing some changes to increase both productivity in the workshop and speed on the sleigh team. After this
announcement, Bouncy (the elf in charge of feeding and exercising the reindeer) suggested that Rudolph be
removed from the sleigh team and replaced by Dusty (a young buck with amazing speed). However, Jingle (the
head elf ) would not suggest this to Santa, due to Santa’s favoritism for Rudolph. This angered you not only
because Jingle’s decision will slow the sleigh down, but it may also put Bouncy’s position in jeopardy.
As for Santa’s concerns about toy production, you believe productivity would improve if Santa replaced
Jangle (the toy designer). Jangle is in charge of the toy plans and designs. Someone with new skills is more
capable of designing toys that could be produced faster.
While you have always prided yourself on your speed, lately it seems to have done you a disservice. Just last
week, Daffy (an elf ) was recklessly trampled by a reindeer, leaving him in a coma. With little evidence to go on
in the investigation led by Jingle, some believe you are the prime suspect because of your speed. To avoid being
wrongly convicted, you have done everything you can to clear your name. A guilty verdict would remove you
from the sleigh team—something you cannot bear.
Until your name is cleared from any suspicion as the culprit in Daffy’s accident and other North Pole logis-
tics are figured out, you have no time for love. Cupid (your girlfriend) is hurt by your recent lack of attention.
However, before you can truly commit to Cupid, you want to make sure your position on the sleigh team is
secure. If you were to be removed from the sleigh team, you fear that Cupid will no longer love you.
With the Holly, Jolly Christmas Party right around the corner, you are anxious to attend. With everyone
in attendance, you believe it will be the perfect place to clear your name from any suspicion. Additionally, you
want to shift the pressure off of the sleigh speed and back onto the productivity of the workshop—where it
should be!
Acting and Dressing Your Part: As a hard-working and diligent fellow, you plan to use your time at
the party to try to prove your innocence and clear your name from any suspicion in Daffy’s accident investiga-
tion. Be very defensive when people ask you about your whereabouts and be suspicious of your fellow reindeer.
For the party, you will dress in your reindeer attire, which may include brown or tan clothing, antlers, a black
nose, reindeer bells and, possibly, your most festive Christmas sweater. For more ideas on how to dress, accessorize,
etc. please check nightofmystery.com and/or hohohomicide.com
Cupid
As one of the reindeer on Santa’s coveted sleigh team, you enjoy your status at the North Pole immensely.
It gives you great joy to be part of the sleigh team that annually delivers toys and gifts to the children of the
world. Additionally, you get great satisfaction from the comradeship you have with your teammates and you
feel as though you have found the love of your life on the sleigh team—Dasher.
While the members of the sleigh team have remained constant for many years, this year may be different.
With the growing global population and increasing demand for toys, Santa is very worried that the current toy
production and sleigh speed will not be adequate to meet demand. Because of this, Santa has stated that he will
be making some changes to increase efficiency on all fronts. This has many elves and reindeer, including you,
worried for their positions.
To help ease the worry, you have secretly been participating in speed drills with Dusty (a young and fast
buck) who hopes to one day join the sleigh team. You feel these drills will give you an added advantage over
your teammates if one of you is to be replaced because of your speed. Recently, Rudolph has been very flirta-
tious with you, however, you have shunned Rudolph’s advances and let him (and others) know that you are in
love with Dasher.
When Dasher found out about your love for him, he professed the same feelings of affection for you. How-
ever, your relationship has not progressed, partly because of the recent elf incident. Just last week, Daffy (an elf )
was trampled by a reindeer, leaving him in a coma. Santa has vowed to take flying rights away from the guilty
reindeer. Currently, Dasher is the prime suspect because of his amazing speed, but he claims to be innocent.
Ever since the accident, Dasher has been doing everything to clear his name, but it does not seem to be work-
ing.
As the Holly, Jolly Christmas Party is quickly approaching, you are happy to attend. With everyone in at-
tendance, you think it will be the perfect place to search out the true culprit for Daffy’s incident. Additionally,
you hope the festive spirit will help Dasher to forget his worries and enjoy some time together!
Acting and Dressing Your Part: As a heart-strong reindeer, you are looking forward to the party to
spend some time with your beau, Dasher. You plan to use the party to get Dasher to loosen up and commit to
you. Additionally, you are very intrusive and curious about the romantic relationships of your peers. You hope
the Holly, Jolly Christmas Party will create a laid back atmosphere where you can gossip about relationships.
For the party, you will dress in your reindeer attire, which may include brown clothing, antlers, collar, jingle
bells and, possibly, your most festive Christmas sweater. For more ideas on how to dress, accessorize, etc.,

Blitzen
As one of the reindeer on Santa’s sleigh team, you have always held a position of privilege in the North
Pole. As you have aged, you have worked hard to maintain your speed and remain an integral part of the team.
Lately, Santa has stated that he will be making some changes to increase the speed of the sleigh team, and
while you have never felt that your position on the sleigh team was threatened, that has changed.
To ease the stress of your job, you and Rudolph (Santa’s favorite reindeer) decided to partake in drinking
a few cartons of eggnog the other night. After drinking the eggnog, you went on a joy ride, which ended in a
terrible accident when you haphazardly trampled Daffy (an elf ) leaving him in a coma. Not wanting to further
put your job in jeopardy, you quickly and quietly left the scene of the accident. When you returned to the barn
where you and Rudolph had been drinking, you found Rudolph passed out and brought him home. Knowing
that Rudolph had no memory of your joyride alone, you and Rudolph vowed to alibi for each other, since you
would be reprimanded severely for your eggnog drinking habits. The two of you decided to claim you were
working together on speed drills at the time of the accident. While you convinced Rudolph to be your alibi,
you plan to incriminate him in the crime in order to save your spot on the sleigh team. Since Rudolph has be-
come the slowest and laziest reindeer on the sleigh team, if you are able to frame Rudolph, he will be removed
from the team and you will be doing everyone a favor. Additionally, while Bouncy (the reindeer elf ) wishes
to replace Rudolph (due to laziness), Jingle (the head elf ) will never voluntarily replace Rudolph (since he is
Santa’s favorite reindeer), so this may be the only way to remove Rudolph and save your job.
In your quest to incriminate Rudolph, you have taken notice of those who can help and hurt your cause.
You believe Sparky (an elf ) may make the perfect ally. Sparky is known to be very jealous of Santa’s relation-
ships with Rudolph and Jingle and there are rumors that Sparky desires to acquire the head elf position.
Although Cupid portrays a very innocent exterior, you believe she is not as angelic as she appears. While
claiming to be in love with Dasher, you have witnessed Cupid secretly sneaking off with Dusty (a young buck).
Certainly, if you expose Cupid’s true character, she may just do whatever you want. With the proper maneuver-
ing, you believe that you may be able to enlist Sparky (and possibly Cupid) to help you incriminate Rudolph in
the crime.
As the Holly, Jolly Christmas Party approaches, you are looking forward to the event. With everyone in
attendance you believe that it will be the perfect place for you to incriminate Rudolph. Additionally, you are
looking forward to celebrating the season and enjoying some eggnog!
Acting and Dressing Your Part: As a true party animal, you love to be the center of attention. While
at the party, do not be afraid to meet others by inviting them to drink a cup of eggnog. For the party, you will
dress in your reindeer attire, which may include brown clothing, antlers, a collar and, possibly, your most festive
Christmas sweater. It is imperative you DO NOT wear any jingle bells. For more ideas on how to dress, acces-

Dusty
As a reindeer, there is nothing you want more than to be awarded a coveted position on the Christmas Eve
sleigh team. Since you were a young and powerful buck, you have aspired to be one of the fastest reindeer at
the North Pole. This year, you believed, would be the year you were promoted. Santa has made it clear that he
wishes to increase the speed of the sleigh in order to increase productivity. You were certain your speed would
earn you a position this year.
While Bouncy (the elf in charge of feeding and exercising the reindeer) agrees that you have earned a posi-
tion on the team, Jingle (the head elf ) will not suggest the promotion to Santa since you would be replacing
Rudolph (a red-nosed reindeer who guides the sleigh). As Santa has grown dependent on Rudolph over the
years, Rudolph has grown lazy and slow. Rudolph’s laziness angers Bouncy, who is in charge of keeping the
sleigh speed fast, but Jingle refuses to replace Rudolph despite the fact that he is a detriment to the sleigh’s fast
pace.
Afraid of losing her position on the sleigh team due to pace, you have agreed to help Cupid with her speed.
Secretly, the two of you have been sneaking off to practice speed drills in your free time. At first, you thought
Cupid might fancy you, but you have since learned that her heart belongs to Dasher (another reindeer).
Despite many setbacks, you have discovered that there may be a potential opening on the sleigh team. Just
last week, Daffy (an elf ) was trampled by a reindeer, leaving Daffy in a coma. Since the guilty party has not
stepped forward and admitted responsibility, there has been much outrage in the North Pole community. Santa
has put Jingle in charge of the investigation into the matter and has vowed to remove the guilty reindeer from
any flying privileges once found. Knowing that Jingle is in charge, you are certain the investigation will be
biased, which is why you plan to step in and help to investigate the accident. If you can help find and prove the
culprit to be Rudolph, or another member of the sleigh team, you believe you will have your deserved position
on the team.
As the Holly, Jolly Christmas Party approaches, you are happy to attend. You believe the party will be a
perfect place for you to inquire into Daffy’s accident and fully expose any improprieties in Jingle’s investigation.
Additionally, you hope to uncover evidence that will undoubtedly prove Rudolph’s guilt—removing him from
the sleigh team!
Acting and Dressing Your Part: As an ambitious, young buck, you are anxious and excited to attend
the party. While at the party, you will want to both please those you meet and assure everyone that you deserve
to be on the sleigh team—no matter how you are chosen! Since you are allergic to eggnog, you will need to ab-
stain from drinking it while at the party. For the party, you will dress in your reindeer attire, which may include
brown clothing, antlers, and jingle bells. For more ideas on how to dress, accessorize, etc., please check nightofmystery.

Evidence Presentation
(To be read by Sparky after everyone has completed their second
set of objectives and Sparky has completed their investigation.)
Hello. After questioning everyone present and doing some investigating on my own, I have found
the following pieces of evidence that contribute to the investigation:
First, we are all aware that Santa is intent on reviewing and updating policies pertaining to toy pro-
duction and sleigh speed. I went to him first to find the memo that outlined his demands.
Now if you would like, please take time to review the evidence. Shortly, the host will be handing out
sheets on which you will attempt to identify the guilty party.

After reviewing all of the evidence, I have actually come to the conclusion that there are two separate culprits
for the crimes at hand.
By first examining the scene of the crime for Daffy’s accident (Exhibit D), we see that there are jingle bells left
at the scene of the crime.
- Tonight, you will notice that Blitzen is the only reindeer present without jingle bells.
- Further, if you look at Exhibit C, the accident investigation, you will see that Blitzen is also the only shoeless
reindeer. By looking at the imprints in the snow on Exhibit D (the crime scene photo), you can see that they
are made by an un-shoed reindeer.
- Lastly, we have witnessed tonight that Blitzen has a strong fondness for eggnog.
While Blitzen may have been the one to blame for Daffy’s accident, they are not the culprit for the murder of
Jingle—the crime we are truly investigating.
For that crime, I have found the murderer through the following process:
1) I first examined Exhibit B, the note found on Jingle. I compared the note to the investigation sheet (Exhibit
C) that Jingle had written. By comparing the two pieces of evidence and the handwriting on both, I concluded
that the note WAS indeed written by Jingle.
2) After this conclusion, I tried to see whom Jingle was threatening in the note, as I now knew they were
indeed the murderer.
3) When you look closely at the threatening note, Exhibit B, you will notice in the left-hand corner of it there
is a staple, yet there is no additional evidence stapled to the threatening note.
4) By comparing this note to Exhibit E, the letter to the toymaker, you will see a tear-mark in the left-hand
corner that matches up with the staple imprint as well as the fold marks.
At first, uncovering this match seemed implausible as it indicates that Jingle would be threatening himself.
Because of that conclusion, I looked closer into the letter from the toy company only to find that the name on
the letter had been altered.
- By looking closely at the envelope in Exhibit E, I noticed that the “i” in Jingle’s name was once an “a” that
had been altered—leading us to believe that it was Jangle AND NOT Jingle who was selling the toy plans to
Matteo.
Additionally, there were some further details which supported the fact that Jangle was indeed the culprit:
- Just after the death of Jingle, it was Jangle who had the letter (Exhibit E) in their possession and then gave
the evidence to Spanky.
- As a toy-designer, Jangle had the appropriate design tools to easily be able to alter the letter.
From these conclusions, I have deduced that Jingle’s killer is none other than Jangle Elf!

Making Pole
• Spray paint your PVC pipe white and your PVC coupling red.
• Once dry, wrap your ribbon around your pole like you would like it.
• Using your hot glue and hot glue gun, secure the ribbon where you had placed it by anchoring it at the top
with glue and along the way down with more glue.
• Cut ribbon and anchor it inside the bottom with more hot glue.
• Secure the red coupling to the top of the pole.
• Using hot glue gun, apply a generous amount of hot glue on the inside rim of the coupling.
• Before glue cools, place the oversized ornament on top of the coupling.
If you do not have an oversized ornament, you can also use a plastic ball. If the ball has a pattern or is not
your color of choosing, you can spray paint the ball to your color of choice.
• Drill two holes through the pipe - directly across from one another - about 3 feet up.
• Spray paint wooden dowel and dowel caps gold.
• Insert dowel through the holes in the pipe.
• Put dowel caps on each end. If needed, secure dowel caps with hot glue.
Making Sign:
• Using spray adhesive or glue, adhere the “North Pole” sign page to a piece of foam core or sturdy cardboard.
• Trim out the sign.
• Punch holes in the two top corners of the sign.
• String twine through the holes.
• Hang sign on the pole.
• Place pole by the entrance to your party space!
