Upon completion of your last assignment or self-test for each course, you are required
to do the course final examination.
For your final examination you have the following two options:
This option is favoured by local residents of Lower Mainland and by students who can
travel to our location. This is the most efficient option since candidates receive their
final results at the end of the examination. The exam is computer based same as the
progress tests.
There is no need to pre-register for course final examinations, but you should be at the
Resource Centre (SE8-210) at least four (4) hours prior to closing time. This ensures
you have sufficient time to complete the examination. Consult the Resource Centre
schedule in the documentation issued to you at time of registration. The schedule is
also posted to the D2L for your course.
This option is most suitable for candidates who live outside Lower Mainland. The
examination is paper-based, while still multiple choices. The examination materials
are mailed to the selected location and upon completion are mailed back to BCIT.
The examinations are reviewed and scored by our instructors and the results
communicated (Program Assistant will send an e-mail) to candidates. Because of this
process, receiving the final results takes longer. Please consider the above if the
timing of your course completion is of essence and if you intend to correlate the
completion with the Safety Authority exam schedule.
If you choose option B, please make arrangements for the principal’s delegate of your
local school, college or Skills Centre to supervise your examination. COMPLETE THE
TEAR-OFF SHEET AT THE END OF THIS SECTION AND RETURN IT by Fax, mail or
e-mail to the Power Engineering Program Assistant. Your exam Proctor (supervisor) will
be sent the necessary material. You are responsible for any supervision fees or
incidental expenses which may be required. **Please allow 10 business days for
your Proctor to receive the exam**
Unless you are writing your exam at BCIT, these materials must be supplied by yourself
and reviewed by your Proctor:
