14:00 – 16:00 Inspection on site for as per interoffice memo: LT/ON/SFW/JB/0028 regarding Spiral 
Fence & Guarding Point Project at Wafa Field Procedure for constructions of spiral 
fence sample 
 
2. DETAIL  ACTIVITY 
2.1. Inspection on site 10 December 2009, 14:00 – 16:00. 
Conducted by :

• Naji Alemari – HSE Technician 
• Amir Sadg – HSE Technician 
Contractor: Supervisor is not present during the inspection. 
 
2.2. Findings 
2.2.1. Posts have been completed installed in section 3‐4 and still on going on section 4‐5 up to 2 km 
from point 4. 
2.2.2. Post install using hammering as shown in pic 1. 
2.2.3. Damage occurred in the post due to hammering such as end crimp, galvanizing damages. (pic 2, 
pic 3, pic 4 and pic 5).   Measure damage on the post are vary between 50‐70 mm (pic 6).  
Length of damage post is shorter  10‐20 mm due to end crimp (pic 7). 
2.2.4. Gap between posts is 300 cm.  (pic 8) 
2.2.5. Distance between concrete posts is 60 meters. (pic 8)  
2.2.6. Gap between front post and back post is around 130‐150 cm.  (pic 9) 
2.2.7. Concrete box on post as follow : 
• No rectangular.  Almost round as per pic (pic 10 & 11) 
• Hole dimension = W : L : D = 50 cm : 50 cm : 50 cm 
• Diameter around 50‐60 cm. 
• Hole was wet prior to pouring concrete 
2.2.8. Height of posts are 270‐300 cm as per pic. 12

2.2.9. Some of front post and back post is not the same level.  It also happened in between post.  The 
10‐20 cm (pic 13 & pic 14) 
2.2.10. Some of post is not install straight as per pic. 15. 
2.2.11. Contractor equipment available on site (pic 16 & 17): 
• Compressor 
• Power Jack Hammer  
2.2.12. Concrete mixing manually, no concrete mixer found location. 
2.2.13. Discussion with the worker not to do hammering on the post, instead use the jack hammer  
 
2.3. Non Conformance 
2.3.1. Post install with hammering.  The method was causing damage on the end post such as end 
crimp and galvanizing coating damage. 
 
2.4. Conclusion 
2.4.1. The posts are installed not installed according to interoffice memo: LT/ON/SFW/JB/0028.  
Contractor need to perform the corrective action. 
2.4.2. The damage to the post due to hammering should be repaired and touch up by the Contractor.
