- Daniel Zamora & Leadership
- McGladrey & Ice Cream Networking

Daniel Zamora
Last Friday, we had guest speaker Daniel Zamora, currently our Consulting Officer, share
his beliefs on leadership. Danny was able to share some of the main characteristics that
the majority of leaders have, and that fellow members have as well. “No matter what you
have holding you back from the past, you need to forget it and move forward,” said Danny.

If you have any questions for Danny, you may contact him at: dzamo002@fiu.edu

McGladrey
Currently the fifth largest accounting firm, McGladrey has multiple opportunities avail-
able. Some of the main services offered are audit, tax, and business consulting, each spread-
ing out into more specific fields. During the presentation, ALPFA members were given a
summary of the “Top Ten Things I wish I knew in my First Year as an Accountant.” The
list can be found on the following page.

After McGladrey’s presentation this past week, they had an ice cream networking session.
Members were given the opportunity to network with the professionals and have ice cream
at the same time. The professionals were able to give members a one on one description of
their daily duties and explain how McGladrey fits in with each of their individual lifestyles.

More information on McGladrey is available at: www.mcgladrey.com

S Sports Bar & Grill

Members had a great time at the social this past Friday, some relaxing after a hard week
of class and others resting from interviews. “ALPFA Idol” gave members the opportunity
to truly express their singing capabilities, showing others that accountants can sing too.
