Topic: Short Story: The Fruitcake Special (Moral Values)

Learning Outcomes: 3.0 Language for aesthetic purposes

3.1 Read and response to literacy works by:

a. identify elements in a short story such as moral values and characters.

Learning Objective: By the end of the lesson, students should be able to identify two moral values and give at least two evidences from the story to support

the answer.

Previous Knowledge: Students are familiar with the story.

Moral Values: Hard work and determination

Teaching Materials: Short story (The Fruitcake Special), mahjong paper, marker pen, Colourful paper and manila cards.

the moral values in the
flashcards.

bubble map by selecting the
right flashcards and put them
in a right characters and
evidence of the short story
based on the moral values.

correct errors and provide
feedback.
