Grading
Mid-semester Examination (Open book/notes) 25 points
Three announced quizzes (Closed book/notes; best two will be considered) 30 points
* Home assignments will be provided for your practice. Home assignments will not be graded. However,
Quiz questions will be similar to the problems given in the home assignments.
Attendance: is mandatory during the lecture. Absence in classes will only be permitted with valid leave
request approved & forwarded by SUGC. A student will be de-registered from the course if he/she misses
10 or more lectures before the last day for dropping regular courses/deregistration i.e. 25/03/19.
Re-grading: You can return the exam/quiz copies on the day the answer-scripts are distributed for
re-grading, after describing the detailed comments on the top of the answer-scripts. If you are absent on that
day, you lose the right of appeal.
Make-up Exams: One make-up examination will be given only to the students with regular
attendance. Students missing the mid-semester examination, or quiz, can take this upon production of a
valid medical certificate. This make-up examination will be at the same time as the final make-up exam
(date of which will be decided by the DOAA). Thus, there will be only ONE make-up examination
after the final examination for the entire course.
Lastly, cheating of any kind (proxy in attendance, copying or taking help during
examinations) would result in severe punishment including F grade.
