INTERVIEWER: Sir good day ummm we are students from Saint

Louis University school of law and we are conducting a study how law
enforcers conduct investigation.

Police Officer: Yes, Good day too.

INTERVIEWER: Sir for the record, can you please state your name
and your current position.

Police Officer: I am Police Senior Inspector Eugenio Balagot.

Presently assigned at La Union Police Provincial Office. And quarter-
designated as Logistics Officer and Officer in charge of Said Office.

INTERVIEWER: And prior to designation as such where were you

assigned?

Police Officer: Prior to my assignment as a logistics officer, I was

assigned as Officer in Charge of Sto. Tomas Police Station.

INTERVIEWER: Sir you mentioned a while ago that you are the
officer in charge of Sto. Tomas Police Station can you relay to us what are
the basic duties of the police unity

Police Officer: The basic duties of our personnel is conduct patrol

within our area and preempt any commission of a crime. And to maintain
peace and order within our locality. Of course, we also conduct traffic
management and to respond to call coming from concerned citizens. And
to investigate crime incidents that may transpire within our area of
responsibility (AOR) and other matters that has(sic)

INTERVIEWER. sir you have made mention that one of your duties is
to conduct criminal investigation umm can you relay to us how you conduct
such/

POLICE OFFICER: usually the desk officer upon receipt of the report
of any crime incidents he immediately dispatches or calls an officer within
the aor to respond to the alleged crime scene, and of course uhh.. he will
call for the investigator to conduct necessary investigations, but prior to that
the first responders should protect the crime scene from any by-standers
and of course the evidence to avoid being distracted and contaminated.
they will also call for the assistance of the scene of the crime operatives
from the crime laboratory if necessary to process the crime scene

INTERVIEWER: Sir as the OIC in the Police Station, what are your
roles in the conduct of police investigation?

Police Officer: My primary role as OIC in the conduct of

investigation is to supervise the ongoing conduct of the particular
investigation, and to make sure that the investigators are authorize to
conduct said investigations.
