I’m going to give each of you two different pictures and I’d like you to talk about them on your own
for about a minute.

Pictures 1A / 1B
(Student A), here are your two pictures (1A / 1B). They show people studying. Please let
(Student B) see them. (Student B), I’ll give you your pictures in a moment.

(Student A), I’d like you to compare and contrast these pictures, saying how you would feel
about studying in similar places. Remember, you only have about a minute for this, so don’t worry
if I interrupt you.

(Student B), could you tell us which place (1A / 1B) you would prefer to study in?

(Student B), here are your two pictures (1C / 1D). They show two other people studying. Please
let (Student A) see them.

C would be the best site for a new hospital and why. Think about the other buildings near each site

Discuss how important each factor is and decide which of the factors given are most important in
making people successful in sport and which don’t matter so much. You have only about 3 minutes

Do you think it is better to watch sport on television or live? Why? What are the advantages of
each?
Are famous sports people in Chile good role models for young people to follow? Why (not)?
Why do you think successful sports stars earn so much money?
