Indeed perception is that CAT is one of the toughest exams for MBA entrance tests. Yes off course the
reality is like that only but we need to underrate for a while as what CAT is all about and why it is tough?

Let’s understand that CAT is an exam which tests your both quantitative skills and language skills in two
parts of the exam. First section with QA, DILR and the second section with VARC.
QuantitativeAptitudewhich is commonly known as QA is basically arithmetic sums which include
questions on percentages, time and distance, numbers etc.

DataInterpretation and LogicalReasoning sectionwhich CAT aspirants understand as DILR contains

questions on analytics basedquestions and logicalacumen. That’s to test you in areas of your
understanding on how you behave mentally during exam and out of those mental responses with you
answers intriguedquestionsin this section.

Verbalability and readingcomprehension as the name suggest as VARC is bundle of questions on testing
your language skills in areas of communication process and vocabulary is the most pertinent part of this
section. You willpositively be foxed by certain sentences which might trouble you to understand the
exact meaning in RC.

Now you see afterhaving understood CAT sections, you will realise soon that CAT is not tough provided
you are clear on the fundamentals of Maths and English language. These aforesaid areas can’t be
improved overnight hence; this also is one of the main reasons for sounding CAT as tough exam.

But still query on how to improvecertain areas of CAT must be whispering sound in ears and why not?
For this matter CAT aspirants are advised to read and practicethrough NCERT books of middle level.
Those questions on fundamentals will clarify your doubts on quantitative skills and will improve you
dramatically. These sections of QA and DILR can be improved through MOCK testspositively.

But language communication skills is tough nut to crack if you are poor on that and particularly on
vocabulary, In this regard you are advised to read novels and editorials of newspapers then write
summaries which will give writing practice and usage of words which might raise your vocabulary.

If CAT istough but then with CAT you get ample of opportunities and perhaps it is CAT with which high
percentile opens gate ways for you to get admission in IIMs and top institutes.

That way CAT might be toughbut not tough enough that you continue to fear unnecessary, rather be
bold and become warrior to cross this journey of fear psychosis for CAT to ace CAT!!!!
