➔ Difference between Physical and
Chemical Property

Physical Property
● Physical property is when you observe something
without changing its chemical makeup.
● Physical properties are observable and it can
describe matter without changing its identification.
● Physical properties can be classified further into two
types called intensive and extensive.
● Intensive: not altered by by size or mass of sample;
Ex: color, density
● Extensive: is altered with a change in the amount of
matter in a sample; Ex: mass, volume, length

Examples of Physical Property
● Color
● Density
● Volume
● Mass
● Boiling point
● Temperature
● Solubility

★ Flammable
★ Combusts
★ Reacts with oxygen
★ Sour taste (acid)
★ Oxidation
★ Reactivity
★ Radioactivity

Conclusion
❏ We did the 2 properties they are Physical and Chemical
❏ One way that they are different from each other is that
physical property doesn’t change the substance but a
chemical property does.
❏ An example for a physical property is volume
❏ An example for a Chemical property is flammability
