Kinnerton Walking Group
Rosalind is of the opinion that we should rename the group the Kinnerton
Walking and Dining Group as we spend quite a lot of time off our feet. The
picture was taken at Curzon Park Golf Club when we decided that we hadn't
been out to lunch for a while. Food was fabulous as usual. We did venture out
of the village for a walk, though when we headed to Northop for a six mile
walk which took us through some beautiful countryside on a glorious autumn
afternoon and although tired we managed to make it to The Boot Inn for
some well earned refreshments. In December we will be having our famous
Christmas lunch which once again will be organized by Rosalind at CPGC. On
behalf of all members of the Group can I take this opportunity to wish everyone in the village a Happy Christmas
and a prosperous New Year and an extra special thanks to the HK Community Councillors for their endeavours
in making the village the special place it is. Hope to see some new faces in 2017
Indoor Bowls takes place every Wednesday evening from 6:30pm in the Village Hall.
Members also play in a Tuesday League against other local clubs (home and away). If you
are interested in playing indoor bowls and haven't played bowls before, our members
will be happy to coach you. All you need are flat shoes. For further information contact
Mel on 01244 660784
Have you seen the recent report that showed that being a Scout or Guide gives you improved
mental health as an adult? Scouting promotes both physical and emotional wellbeing in
young people, but it seems that it can benefit your adult life as well. Our Remembrance Day
Parade was well attended by the Group, along with the Brownies and Rainbows, and it was a
delight to see the youngsters participating in the Service. There are currently vacancies in the
Beaver Colony for boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 8. Children younger than this can
join the waiting list. The Cub Pack is expanding under their two new leaders, taking children from 8 to 10 years.
The Scout section has an exciting programme coming up, including skiing, climbing and winter walking. For
details of all these, or if you would like to become an adult helper in any Section, and join in the fun, even if
just occasionally, email kinnertonscoutgroup@gmail.com. In 2017, we will be celebrating 40 years of Scouting
in Higher Kinnerton We want to include the whole village in our events, so early next year we will be asking
you all for memories and photos of your times in Scouting, We want to get in touch with as many former
members as possible. Look out for further details in the Newsletter.
We are now chilling out and preparing for next season at our new home in
Dodleston but would still like some more players. So if anyone is interested please
get in touch. On behalf of everyone connected to the club can I wish everyone in
Kinnerton a Happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year and a special thanks to
Councillor Steve Jessop for his help on numerous occasions.

Craft fair… the event on the 12th November was a resounding success with a
dozen tables selling all types of goodies from pear and apple juice to dresses, cards,
jewelry and more. Thanks to all those lovely people who supported us. We were so
pleased to see so many people enjoying themselves. The WI made about £200
which will certainly pay for a member to have the opportunity to visit Denman
College near Oxford for a brilliant course of their choice. She will choose from a
large range of courses. It was an afternoon of sheer delight.
