things to watch
this season
1. The 614 has come to the 419 and the 419 has
gone to the 740.
Lima Senior has two players who transferred in from
Pickerington Central this year.
Josiah Fulcher, a 6-foot, 2-inch junior guard who has
attracted some NCAA Division I interest, was a starter
at Pickerington Central last year when it was a state
semifinalist. Jamir Simpson, a 6-foot, 5-inch wing who is
the son of Lima Senior legend Greg Simpson, came off
the bench at Pickerington last year.
Meanwhile, 6-foot, 5-inch Jainaz Cameron, who was a
varsity player as a freshman last year at Lima Senior, has
transferred to London High School.
2. Is Lima Central Catholic ready to bounce back
from 8-15 and 6-17 records since winning the 2016
Division III state championship?
LCC has had three consecutive losing seasons only
once in school history and that was in the 1960s.
3. Is Ottawa-Glandorf equipped to win or share the
Western Buckeye League championship for a fourth
year in a row?
The Titans lost some significant players in first-team
All-Ohio post player Jay Kaufman, Jake Dible and Bryce
Schroeder but have two returning starters in Owen
Hiegel and Ethan White and their JV team dominated
most of the teams it played.
The Titans are 26-1 in WBL games the last three
seasons.
4. Can Pandora-Gilboa and Marion Local, the two
area teams who got to the state tournament last year,
make another run to Columbus?
