1. Layouts in Xamarin.Forms (Britch et al., 2018)


a. ContentView ​- contains a single child in within the Content Property.
b. Frame ​- displays a frame around its child.
c. ScrollView - capable of scrolling its contents when the layout is too large to fit on
the screen.
d. TemplatedView ​- displays content with a control template and is the base class
for the ContentView.
e. ContentPresenter ​- used within a ControlTemplate to mark where the content
that is to be presented appears.
f. StackLayout - positions child elements in a stack, either a vertical or horizontal
orientation.
g. Grid -​​ positions child elements in a grid of rows or columns.
h. AbsoluteLayout - positions child elements at specific locations relative to its
parent.
i. RelativeLayout - ​positions child elements to the layout itself or to their siblings.
j. FlexLayout - lays out child elements in optionally wrappable rows of columns of
child elements.
2. Views in Xamarin (Britch et al., 2018)
a. Label - ​displays single-line or multi-line text.
b. Image - ​displays Bitmap images.
c. BoxView - ​displays a rectangle colored by the “Color” property.
d. WebView - ​displays Web pages or HTML content.
e. OpenGLView​​ - displays OpenGL graphics for iOS and Android projects only.
f. Map - ​displays a map.
g. Button - ​a rectangular object that uses a “click” event when pressed.
h. SearchBar - ​displays an area in for the user to type and signals the application to perform
a search.
i. Slider - ​allows the user to select a “double” value that is set in a Maximum and
Minimum properties.
j. Stepper - ​allows the user to select a “double” value that increments or decrements the
value.
k. Switch - ​allows the user to switch toggle an on or off action to the app.
l. DatePicker - ​allows the user to select a date.
m. TimePicker - ​allows the user to select a time.
n. Entry - ​allows the user to enter or edit a single line of text.
o. Editor - ​allows the user to enter or edit multiple line of text.
p. ActivityIndicator - ​uses an animation to show that the application is in a long activity
without showing the progress.
q. ProgressBar - ​uses an animation to show that the application is progressing in a long
activity.
r. Picker - ​display a selected item from a list of text strings.
s. ListView - ​displays a scrollable list of selected data items.
t. TableView - ​displays a list of rows of type cell.
