COURSE OUTLINE
COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course aims at improving capabilities for teachers of English at secondary and high schools by

 acquiring essential knowledge and familiarity with the principles of effective language teaching;
 acquiring a range of practical skills for teaching English as a foreign language;
 giving them skills and tools to incorporate technology in their everyday teaching, and

COURSE OBJECTIVES

This course is designed to

 help teachers reflect on their own teaching methods, and improve their understanding of principles and practices of language
teaching
 enable better skills in technology for participants, and to help them set up activities linking methodology and technology

COURSE REQUIREMENTS

 Participants must be teachers of English at secondary and high schools.


 Participants will have a level of English equivalent to B2 or higher.

COURSE METHODOLOGY

 This course is taught interactively with input sessions, collaborative and group project work.
 Participants are actively involved in all sessions.
 Participants are asked to reflect on the tools and activities, and adaptation of the use of the tools to their teaching and
learning situations.

COURSE ASSESSMENT & GRADING

Note: Participants are required to complete all online tasks and attend at least 80% of the scheduled classes. Those who fail to fulfill such
requirements will not be eligible to successfully pass the course.

(*) During the 15-minute-reflection sessions, participants will have to write down a few ideas or activities that they will definitely take back to the
classroom (minimum 100 words). The purpose of the reflection writing is to provide participants with quiet time to absorb the newly acquired
knowledge and remember all the key points of the lessons.
