TECHNICAL WORK EXPERIENCE

Tantalus Systems Corp. September, 2017 – September, 2018


Hardware Test Engineer
 Employed as a main co-op engineer of an R&D project for a smart grid company, Tantalus Systems Corp.
 Primarily developed firmware to control cutting edge radio technology.
 Other tasks included hardware/software testing, simulation development/testing, data processing, algorithm
development, documentation, and training.
 First-hand experience in RF/Digital signal processing, FCC compliance testing, and encryption.
 Originally contracted to work 8 months, it was later extended to 12 months.
 Worked in a Linux based environment, and experienced with revision control, workflow management, and agile
software development methodology.

TECHNICAL PROJECTS

Emergency Location Sensor September 2018 – Ongoing


 Working on a Capstone project with the client, Agility Technology Corps., to build a proof-of-concept emergency
location sensor.
 Tasked with programming in C, hardware verification, and quality assurance.
 Assumed the role of lead communicator in the team of five.

Haptic Interface January – April 2017


 Completed a group project to build a 2 DoF Haptic Interface, capable of simulating virtual object and prescribed
movements.
 Assumed leadership by setting/enforcing deadlines and managing work distribution.
 Contributed in programming, building digital and power circuits, PCB design, 3D printed parts design, and modelling
the system on Simulink.
 Achieved a final demonstration grade of A-.

Simple Reduced Instruction Set Computing (RISC) Machine October, 2015


 Built a Turing complete Simple RISC Machine over a course of month.
 Utilized Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) and Verilog to implement CPU, including RAM, instruction
decoder, and finite state-machines.
Microcontroller January – February, 2016
 Used AT89LP52 integrated chip and assembly to build a microcontroller with LCD display.
 Implemented a temperature sensor, and an alarm clock with the microcontroller.
 Upgraded the AT89LP52 chip to F38X Microcontroller System, which was used to build a capacitance meter, a
phasor voltmeter, and a motor controller.

NON-TECHNICAL WORK EXPERIENCE

Sunset Ranch Golf & Country Club May, 2015 – August, 2016
Ground Crew
 Worked during the summer as a part of 10+ member team.
 Tasked with golf course maintenance and removing safety hazards.
 Demonstrated punctuality
 Developed strong communication skills while learning to operate potentially hazardous machineries.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE

Kelowna General Hospital Foundation July, 2012 – August, 2014


Barista/Cashier
 Served over 100 hours as a volunteer at the KGH Foundation’s coffee shop, the Perking Lot.
 Provided friendly customer service and handled complaints at a busy hospital coffee shop with a professional
attitude.
 Followed strict sanitary procedure with the dedication of providing the best quality products to customers.
 Advanced teamwork and communication skills during the rush hours as a part of three member team.
