In MPLS network, we often adopt
LDP as the label distribution protocol
in an MPLS domain to set up LSPs,
this slide introduces the configuration
of how to establish LDP sessions
and how to perform label mapping,
release, and so on.

Upon completion of this course, you will
be able to:
Describe the LDP configuration
commands
Know typical applications of LDP
Describe how to monitor the
information of LDP

MPLS LDP CONFIGURATION
When configuring an LSR ID, note the following:

The LSR ID must be configured before other MPLS commands

are run.

The LSR ID does not have the default value, and must be
configured manually.

It is recommended to use the address of the loopback interface

of the LSR as the LSR ID.

To modify the configured LSR ID, you must run the undo mpls
command to delete all the MPLS configurations.

LDP Basic Concept

LDP is a protocol used to establish LDP Session between LSRs and

exchange Label/FEC mapping information.

LDP Discovery Mechanism

LDP Basic Discovery Mechanism: to discover LSR

neighbors that is directly connected at the link level.
LDP Extended Discovery Mechanism: to discover LSR
neighbors that is not directly connected at the link level.

RTA, RTB and RC support MPLS, and run routing protocol
between them.
Establish local LDP sessions between RTA and RTB, also

Configuration Procedure

1.Configure interfaces IP address

2. Configure IGP, such as OSPF
Configuration

Enable MPLS
and LDP For VRP 3.3, it
[RouterA] mpls lsr-id 1.1.1.9
should be
[RouterA] mpls “mpls ldp
[RouterA-mpls] lsp-trigger all enable”
Enable [RouterA] mpls ldp For VRP5.10
Remote LDP [RouterA] interface ethernet 0/1 or higher,
[RouterA-ethernet0/1] mpls It would be
[RouterA-ethernet0/1] mpls ldp “mpls ldp”
