Dear Students,
You will participate in an assignment of making a video about a car accident that has recently
happened in your country.
Step 1:
Read a news story about a road accident that happened in Pasamayo, Lima last January.
Here is the link: https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/peru-bus-crash-latest-
dead-injured-devils-curve-lima-pasamayo-a8139006.html
Step 2:
After reading the news article, prepare a short summary including information about:
What happened
What the people had been doing before the accident happened
How you think people felt before and during the accident
How survivor(s) felt
What people said
What the survivor promised at the end
What you heard the authorities offered to do after the accident
This text will be your video script so make it interesting to the audience!
Tip!
You may want to re-read the Cliff terror story of Unit 2 on English Discoveries so you can have an
example to make your script.
Step 3:
Now, record yourself on a video telling us about the accident. Narrate the story using the video
script you prepared in Step 2.
Practice several times before recording the final version of your video.
Here are some things to keep in mind while recording your video:
Speak as clearly as possible.
Smile.
Be in a well-lit area.
Be confident.
Do not forget to look at the camera when you speak.
Don’t just read.
