1 Connect the debug tool to the computer.

2 Install the driver of the debug tool. The driver is named FTDI Driver.rar.

3 After the driver is installed correctly, you can find in the device manager as

below:

When this shows,it

means the driver is

4 Make sure the line is connected correctly. And the STB is power on.

The debut tool

The other end is

connected to the
computer.

This end should be

connected to the STB
RS232 port correctly.

5 Double click the ISP tool.

6 Press Connect and if the debug tool is connected correctly, then it will show

like this.

Otherwise it will pop up as below:

Then please first check

1) Whether the driver is installed correctly
2) Whether the line is connected correctly
3) Whether the STB is power on

7 Press Read and choose the correct file.

8 Press Auto and press Run.

9 Wait till the progress is finished and it shows pass. Please don’t power off

during the whole process. It will take about 10 minutes.

10 Note:

a) The debug tool must be connected correctly.

b) The driver of the debug tool must be installed correctly.
c) The STB must be power off.
d) The upgrade file should be the corresponding one.
e) This is only for the engineer to use.

11 Trouble shooting

a) The procedure of flashing is Erase->blank->programming->verify. If any of

them is error, please press Run again. If it does not work, please re-connect the
debug line, and restart the STB and repeat the Step 1-10.
