BALANCED ATTACK TO GUIDE STORM

A much more experienced Keuka hoops squad will take the floor in 2008-09. Last
season’s 7-16 team had 10 first-timers out of its 16 players and four of the other six
were only in their second go around with the team. With a good nucleus back, the
Storm will make its presence felt in the revamped North Eastern Athletic
Conference (NEAC).

Nonetheless, second-year head coach Tom Flood will have to steer a young team and
will rely heavily on five upperclassmen. Headlining the list of upperclassmen will be
6-5 senior forward Garret Herthum. Herthum pulled in 158 rebounds (6.9) to finish
second on the team while averaging 7.6 points a game and shooting 40 percent from
the floor.

Returning to the frontcourt alongside Herthum will be senior Josh Robinson, who
played as a freshman and sophomore before taking last season off. In 2006-07,
Robinson averaged 4.3 points and 3.7 rebounds a game while shooting 51 percent
from the floor.

The backcourt will be manned by senior Justin Stern and junior Peter Durr. The
sharp-shooting Stern led the Storm in 3-point shooting, draining 45 trifectas and
averaging 8.3 points a game. The 6-2 Stern not only made a lot of 3-balls but shot an
impressive 47 percent from downtown. The 6-0 Durr manned the point duties for the
Storm and dished off 57 assists while also
scoring 6.9 points a contest. Durr was third on
the team in 3-pointers with 24 while hauling in
63 rebounds. Junior guard Rob Crowley also
returns after scoring 2.3 points a game.
Sophomore guard Chas Tangredi returns to
help out at the point guard spot.

Sophomore centers Tyler Pundt and Diamond

Booker will man the paint for Keuka. Pundt,
standing at 6-8, saw action in 20 games and
averaged 1.5 rebounds and 1.4 points a game.
The 6-7 Booker suffered a knee injury before
the season and did not play. His return will
give the Storm a huge boost in the middle.

New to the team this year will be guards Alex

Coleman, Alex Jones, and Mike Hutchings.
New frontcourt performers include Levi
Walrath, Ian Woodworth, and Cody Sellick.
