INTRODUCTION: Chacha
Nehru Park is a small park located
in Masab Tank in central zone of
GHMC limits. Spread over 13
acres,

FUNCTIONS :It serves as the

focal point for morning walkers and functions as a children’s playground with slides,
swings and see-saws. The Park has long lawns and ample space for walkers.

VISITORS: Daily around 1000 people come to visit the park on an average around
150-200 people use the walking tracks . And the children park is also used by the
visitors mainly

USES: While the mornings are about diversity,

the evenings are about joyous family time and
some energy — they’re complete only with a
session of casual badminton and frisbee as the
chaiwalas drop by to give some fuel to the
atmosphere

ELEMENTS : Seating benches,Kids play area, walking and jogging tracks

dustbins, drinking water, flood lights ,street lights , and walkway lights are provided.

COMPONENTS :
GATES :The entry gate is made of steel
and its upto a height of about 5-6m high

COMPOUND WALLS :The compound wall

is built out of stone and it is over laid with
wire fencing

FENCES : The fences are laid on the

compound walls for the security purpose
and also wooden fences are used at
places where the entry beyond it is
restricted along with the signage boards
near these .
WALKWAYS : These walkways are laid
with stone near the entrances and filled in
with soil and the internal pathways are
also covered with soil

PARGOLAS :These aren't any pergolas'

present in this park but the tree cover
itself acts as natural roof covering

FOUNTAINS: Water fountain is present near the entrance lawn area and also near
to the play area where majority of the crowd is seen relaxing sitting on the adjacent
benches provided

DECKS: Decks are provided near the

pond that is adjacent to the park which
makes it as one of the focal points of the
park

WATER BODIES : There is a natural

water body with in the park premises

ILLUMINATION : The walkways are well

lit with the street lights .The provision of
focus lights near some of the trees and
near the fountains as well as near the
kids play area. Along with these LED
outdoor lights

PLAY AREA :Kids play area is provided at the

farther most corner of the park with playing
equipment provision

OTHER COMPONENTS :There is a provision of

mini canteen .

A small nursery is provided inside this park which

acts as another major attraction

Toilets are provided near to the lawn area where

crowd concentration is more during the evenings

Dustbins are provided at regular intervals and

signage boards are provided near to these dustbins.
Signage boards are placed at different areas
leading to the required areas
