Industrial dial thermometer with gas filled measuring system 3000 page 1.0
The measuring principle
Industrial dial thermometer are expanding spring thermometer with gas
filled measuring system. Bourdon spring, capillary and temperature (ill. 1)
feeler are filled under pressure. Each change of temperature result in
a change of pressure, and therefore a change by the bourdon tube to
the measuring element who displays the temperature. The measuring
system is artificially aged in a special process. This assures a good
measuring behaviour in the long run.
Technical recommendations
Remote thermometer should be applied where vibrations or shocks occur
oil filled instruments are also available.
The operating temperature during continuous service should not exceed
¾ of the instrument range.
Mounting instruction:
Each thermometer is provided with mounting- and operating instruction.
In addition thermometer with switch will be supplied with working
instruction according to EN 61010 part 1.
Fitting the feeler into a pipe, a suitable position with respect to the medium
flow should be selected for the feeler, see ill. 2-4
Execution:
Pointer adjustment: Display adjustment at instrument pointer is standard,
except by Contact thermometer.
Case compensation: ARMATHERM measuring instruments are equipped
with standard bimetal compensation device for ambient temperatur from
0 to 40° C. If thermometer are exposed to other temperatures, it must be
mentioned in case of order placement.
Bayonet ring case: nominal size 100 or 160
Grade stainless steel, protection type IP 65

Execution:
Case 90°, swivels after loosening the union nut, unique up to 180°.
Superficial feelers are an alternative for plants already taken in enterprise,
or where pipes are not allowed to be tapped.
Superficial feelers must always be fastened tight on the surface.
This is usually done with bands.
The elongated superficial feeler (120 mm long x 22 mm wide), has a double line,
formed edition and is suitable for pipes from ½“ to 6“.
By the employment of thermal compounds (until 200°C), the temperature leading
bearing surface can be increased to achieve a faster announcement.
Superficial feelers must be included into the tubing isolation, so that the ambient
temperature of the measuring point does not affect the announcement.
