ASSIGNMENT

In relation to weather and crime, the effect of climate is a general phenomenon that

happens in about all parts of the world. Different places in the world may vary in terms of

climate, which can be retrieved from previous data and findings recorded. From the diversities in

weather patterns of different parts of the earth, the influences to the outcomes may be deemed by

the climatic conditions. Therefore, crime, in some areas of the world cannot be directly

intertwined with aggression and hostility. However, spending more time outdoors can also be a

triggering factor in causing crime, since people will interact more, risking violence.

Crime is thus not intertwined with the weather, as supported by Yan (2004), after carrying

out a research of examining theft in the subtropical climate of Hong Kong, where his findings

were that theft was constant, regardless of the seasonal changes and patterns. It is therefore

constant that crime in some areas of the world is not interrelated with hostility and aggression as

stated in the answer above.

The persistent Body Mass Index measure is explained and determined by gender, class,

and geographical region, as explained by Quatelet (1842), cited by Mackay, (2010). He noted

that poverty and deprivation can cause stunted growth, which is a characteristic associated with

poor people. Quatelet also noted that the average person’s weight and mass were supposed to be

proportional, an observation, that is still in use today.
