My name is Nikhil Ankush Parte and I have been dreaming for a long time of being an ambassador for Welingkar

abroad, as part of a study exchange. I am very interested in attending the Mälardalen University for many reasons.
One of the greatest opportunities a student can be offered is the chance to study overseas before graduating. Studying
abroad will give me the chance to continue my education while soaking in the culture, customs, and education practices
of a society that is different from the one I grew up in, India. One of the many wonderful advantages about being a
Welingkar student, is that there are so many reputable institutions all over the world that accept Welingkar students
into their programs.

From an academic as well as from a cultural perspective, I would be very much looking forward to spending a semester
in the heart of Sweden: Västerås. After meeting representatives and student who had been to Mälardalen University at
Welingkar, it confirmed my choice. Studying in Sweden will allow me to live, experience and study in deep new cultures
and markets which I wouldn’t normally study at Welingkar. By being there, I will have a better understanding of the
Sweden culture.

I am a person who always seeks new adventure and academic challenge. As a working professional, I chose Welingkar
to challenge myself taking up E-business in one of the top B-school in all of India. I have an Bachelor’s degree in
Engineering from the esteemed Mumbai University, with my focused interest on Electronics and Computers, I worked
for more than 2 years as a Software Engineer, catering to software development needs of Indian Army, but this wasn’t
enough as I lacked the skillset to achieve and bring the change I always wanted to see in myself and in society, and thus
MBA was my savior As a student at Welingkar, I am continuously meeting students from different backgrounds,
enrolling in different competitions, challenging myself and learning new things daily. However, next year is my chance.
Studying abroad is a life experience that I cannot miss.

Some of the key research that Mälardalen has undertaken which I can connect and have an interest in are “Innovation
Management and Entrepreneurship”,” Energy and Environmental Engineering”, and their work on smart cities, hoping
to exchange ideas with and get an insight from Mr. Erik Lindhult. Along with these the courses offered by the University
like International Marketing, Industry process Development, Applied AI, Energy System etc., as an Engineer and a
student of E-business, knowledge about these subjects and the research will help me achieve the insight and mainly
the perspective that will be very hard to achieve in India.

I strongly believe that studying in Sweden would present to me an opportunity that will have a positive impact on my
life and career as an international Welingkar entrepreneur. To study in Sweden would allow me to gain a better
understanding of the business culture in Sweden. I also believe that I will be able to have a positive impact on many
students at Welingkar by sharing my new knowledges on various subjects upon my return. On a more personal basis,
this exchange will help me gain more independence, develop leadership skills, increase my knowledge of the business
developments in Sweden and the surrounding countries, as well as give me the opportunity to travel to some of the
neighboring cities and countries.

I hope to have the opportunity to realize my dream of pursuing another chapter of my academic and personal life in
Sweden in summer 2018 while being an ambassador from Welingkar overseas.
