Major Domains
Three types of Major Domains are given below:

1. Lithosphere

2. Atmosphere

3. Hydrosphere

And where three domains merge would be the region of known as Biosphere.

Now “lithon” the words make land, when we talk about land, we talk about earth crust. As the
rock below the rock will talk about soils. Then you have that Atmosphere means Air. The
components of air and “Hydro” means components of water. So where you have the land, water
and air that interact it is biosphere which is the life from and I could say living form.

Now atmosphere I can classified as various layers of atmosphere we already covered layers of
atmosphere in a separate video. You can refers the various layers of atmosphere.

Now just recap that the lower most layer is a troposphere. Then you have stratosphere,
mesosphere and thermosphere and exosphere. The troposphere is the region where you have life
that exists.

And finally hydrosphere.

Now if I talk about the global scenario, I can say portion of block consist of land and where is
portion consist of water. You have hydrosphere or water bodies that account for the of
the Total area.

Now when we talk about lithosphere we take about the sealevel as the base. Now when we
consider sea level as the base that means you have the height that would be calculated as above
sea level and below sea level. So above sea level we denoted as ASL and below sea level we call it
is a BSL. When we talk about highest point that is Mount Everest it would be 8848 m ASL and
when we talk about lowest as deepest point that is Mariana Trench it would be 11,022m BSL. So
you have deepest region which would be this and the highest would be Mount Everest and this
two form two extreme for the lithosphere.

Now when we talk about lithosphere we must understand the Extension of continents.
