III. LEARNING PROCEDURE

Teacher’s Activity Pupil’s Activity

A. Motivation
Look around class, what can you see?
Plants and school buildings sir
What else?
Trees
Blackboard
Table
Why is it that we are able to see all these
things?
We are able to see things because there is
light sir.
B. Presentation
I have her 7 different colors, kindly state
their names.
Red, Orange, yellow, Green, Blue, indigo and
Violet.
When can you usually see these colors?
When there is a rainbow sir.
Yes, we call it light energy class, it
enables us to see things even the seven
colors and brightens every place.
Light Energy has two kinds:
Visible light and Invisible light.
C. Discussion
What do you think is a visible light?
Visible light is the light that we can see
through our naked eyes.
Yes, it is also consists of seven spectral
colors (ROYGBIV)
How about invisible light?
Invisible light is the light that we cannot see
through our naked eyes.
Precisely, it can be an ultraviolet light or
infrared light.

What do you think is an ultraviolet light?

Ultraviolet light has wavelength shorter than
visible violet light.
How about an infrared light?
Infrared light has wavelength longer that
visible red light.
Very well said!
Where does our ROYGBIV belong?
ROYGBIV belongs to visible light.
How about ultraviolet and infrared light?
Invisible light sir.
Yes, invisible light has also benefits for
us.
Infrared light is used in medical and
military researches while
Ultraviolet light can kill germs and
viruses and can make our body strong and
healthy, but too much of it can cause
danger.
D. Generalization
Light energy brightens every place, it
enables us to see things even colors.
Light energy has two kinds:
1. Visible light which we can see
through our naked eyes and it is
consists of 7 spectral colors
(ROYGBIV)
2. Invisible light which we cannot
see through our naked eyes, it can
be:
a. Ultraviolet- wavelength shorter
than visible violet light
b. Infrared- wavelength longer
that visible red light.
Invisible light has also beneficial
effects but too much of this is
dangerous.
E. Application
I will group you into two. Each will be
given one manila paper and a marker.
Using a Venn diagram, you are to
compare and contrast visible and invisible
light.
Afterwards, choose one representative
from your group to explain your work.
