CHAPTER 1

INTRODUCTION

We, the students of Samar National School are assigned to do the task of marketing

research, this marketing research is used to provide food satisfaction and expectation here in

Catbalogan City, Samar. With the use of different methods of research such as qualitative and

quantitative research. This research also conducted several survey such as interview, group

discuss, observation, and social media linking. We also conceptualize a further study so that we

can have our specific information for the perspective kind of proposal.

1.2 MARKET RESEARCH

We conduct a marketing research for us to know the demand product here in catbalogan

city, we don’t have an idea what product to be made / produce but based on research, the

majority product is viand so, our group are still analyzing and experimenting a product to be

made, a kind of product that is unique and affordable.

1.3 PURPOSE OF THE STUDY

The purpose of the study is to know the demand and needs of the customers where they

can find the satisfaction of the product that we sell in the market. We conduct this research to

know what is the most demand product of the customers to give their needs and to reach highly

demand of the customers and give them satisfaction. According to our survey, viand is the most

demand product of the people here in catbalogan so we planned to make and sell some viand that

surely everyone can buy in a good and affordable price.


1.4 HYPOTHESIS

The majority demand of a product is viand so we are about to experiment/ make a

product that is unique and will prove the satisfaction of our costumer that will patronize of every

millennial and others. According to our survey, majority of a person ages 19-67, most likely

want food product to be exposed in the market while for the other individuals ages 14-25, most

likely things product for their need in school and what so ever, so if our group is ask what

product to be make, our main product will be the food product because based on survey, food is

majority among others.

1.5 SCOPE AND DELIMITATION

Out of 13 grade 11 accounting students of Samar National School, 25 people were used

as a sample in conducting the survey. This study limits its coverage on the 16 - 67 years old

people. Its main purpose is to identify the most demand product of our customers that we

encounter and to propose possible solutions regarding this problem. This study considers the

highly demand of the customer’s personal information that has an impact to their needs. Each of

the respondents are given same questionnaires to answer. And this study focuses on the current

junior high & other college students of the present school year, 2018-2019.
