Science Admission Test (BITSAT)

About BITSAT 2019


BITS Pilani will conduct BITSAT 2019 in online mode tentatively in the third to fourth week of
May 2019. A university-level exam, BITSAT is conducted every year for admission to Integrated
First degree programmes offered by the institute – B.E., B.Pharm., and M.Sc. Candidates who
qualify in the entrance exam are offered admissions at any of the three campuses – Pilani, Goa
and Hyderabad. The entrance exam will be of three hours duration, comprising of 150 multiple
choice questions divided into four parts. Each question will have four answer options, out of
which only one will be the correct option. An interesting feature of the exam is if candidates are
able to complete the entire quota of 150 questions without skipping, they can attempt an
additional 12 questions to score higher.

The online application form of BITSAT 2019 will be released in the first week of January. It is
incumbent upon the candidate that they ensure they meet the prescribed eligibility criteria
before filling the BITSAT application form 2019. The result of the exam will be declared in the
form of scores, tentatively in the third week of May 2019.

BITSAT 2019 Eligibility Criteria


BITSAT B.E

The candidate needs to ensure that they meet all the prescribed BITSAT 2019 eligibility criteria
before filling the application form. This will ensure that the candidate won't be denied
admission at the institute. The major points related to BITSAT eligibility criteria is described
below:

Qualifying Exam: The candidate needs to have passed 10+2 from a recognized institute with
Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. Adequate proficiency in
English is also mandatory. If the candidate will be appearing for 10+2 in 2019, he/she is also
eligible.

Minimum Marks in Qualifying Examination: The candidate should have scored minimum
75% marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Additionally, the candidate
must have scored minimum 60% in each paper.

Age limit: No age limit has been specified as such, but only those candidates who are
appearing in or have passed their 10+2 are eligible to sit in the exam.
BITSAT B.Pharma

Candidates applying to B.Pharm courses must meet the following eligibility criteria, only then
will they be considered for admission:

Qualifying Exam: The candidate must have passed 10+2 from a recognized Central or State
board with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. Adequate proficiency
in English is also required. If the candidate will be appearing for 10+2 in 2019, he/she is also
eligible.

Minimum Marks in Qualifying Examination: The candidate should have scored minimum
75% marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Additionally, the candidate
must have scored minimum 60% in each paper.

Age limit: No age limit has been specified as such, but only those candidates who are
appearing in or have passed their 10+2 are eligible to sit in the exam.

BITSAT M.Sc.

Candidates applying to integrated M.Sc programmes need to meet the following eligibility
criteria:

Qualifying Exam: The candidate must have passed 10+2 from a recognized institute with
Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and posses adequate proficiency
in English. Additionally, candidates appearing for 10+2 in 2019 are also eligible.

Minimum Marks in Qualifying Examination: The candidate must score at least 75% marks in
in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics taken together. The candidate must also score
minimum 60% in each paper.

Age limit: No age limit has been specified as such, but only those candidates who are
appearing in or have passed their 10+2 are eligible to sit in the exam.

BITS Pilani will release the application form of BITSAT 2019 in online mode in the first week of
January. The BITSAT 2019 application process includes steps like registration, filling of essential
information like personal, academic and contact details, uploading of documents and payment
of application. To duly fill the form, it is important that the candidate completes each step,
using genuine and verifiable data only.

Steps to fill BITSAT 2019 application form

Registration: To register, the candidate will need a valid email id and mobile number.

Filling the form: Upon successful registration, the candidate will have to fill information
related to personal, communication and academic details. The candidate also will have to
select three exam centres, in the order of preference.

Uploading of documents: Scanned images of photograph and signature will have to be


uploaded in the prescribed format.

Payment of application fee: The candidate can pay the application fee either online or
offline. Online payments can be made using net banking, credit or debit cards. For offline
payment, the candidate has to first download the pay slip and deposit the fee in a nearby
ICICI bank branch. The details of the transaction then has to be entered on the application
form.

BITSAT 2019 Admit Card


The hall ticket of BITSAT 2019 will be available only after successfully completing the slot
booking process. So, every candidate is urged to participate in the slot booking process, and
book their preferred slot. The BITSAT 2019 hall ticket that will be generated post successful slot
booking will include details like the name and roll number number of the candidate, date and
time of exam, address of exam centre, and also guidelines related to the entrance exam. After
downloading the hall ticket cum admit card of BITSAT 2019, the candidate needs to ensure the
details mentioned on it are correct; or else the candidate must contact exam authorities to get
it addressed.

BITSAT 2019 Slot Booking


It is mandatory for all candidates to participate in the BITSAT 2019 slot booking process and
book their slots. Please note slots are available on first-come, first-served basis, so if a
particular slot fills up it will no longer be available for the next candidate. So, if the candidate
has preference for any particular slot they must not wait for the closing hours to book slots.
The BITSAT 2019 slot booking portal will open tentatively in the 3rd week of March. To book
slots, the candidate will have to log-in to portal using details like application number, DOB and
registered email id. During slot booking of BITSAT 2019, the candidate will have to select date,
time and exam centre. Upon successful slot booking, BITSAT admit card will be generated
which will carry details of the allotted slot, including date and time of exam, and exam centre
details.

BITSAT 2019 Cut Off


The cutoff of BITSAT 2019 is usually the minimum score that a candidate has to score to be in
contention for a seat. So to have a good chance at admission, the candidate must try to score
at least equal to or more than the BITSAT 2019 cutoff. For preparing the cutoff, authorities will
take into account details like the number of available seats, applications received for admission
and scores of candidates. So, the BITSAT 2019 cutoff would be institute and course-specific.
The cutoff of BITSAT will be released for each iteration or seat allotment round. Please note,
each cutoff list would have two parts – a simple round-specific cutoff and a wait-list cutoff.
BITSAT 2019 Counselling
Mode of Counselling: Online

Candidates who are short-listed for counselling will have to register for BITSAT 2019
counselling, which will be conducted tentatively in the 4th week of May. The counselling of
BITSAT 2019 includes steps like registration, filling of personal, details, submission of qualifying
exam marks, choice filling, payment of counselling fee, and allotment of seats. The allotment of
seats during counselling will be in the form of Iteration rounds. After each Iteration round,
admission and wait list will be published for the benefit of the candidate.

Direct Admission for Board Toppers

Candidates who have topped their respective boards (both central and state boards) in 2019
will be given direct admission to the programme of their choice.
