ENGINE CONTROL
1) By operating the accelerator dial, the input voltage change is sensed by CN102-8 pin of
Mechatro controller;
2) Mechatro controller computes the input voltage;
3) Depending on the working mode selected by the operator through the gauge cluster,
Mechatro outputs command to governor motor and inclines governor lever of engine to the
swing angle corresponding to accel dial set value and to selected work mode.

In every selected working mode, Mechatro will command the governor motor with a synchro-
nous control; it means that the final engine rpm will be always fixed and constant in any load
condition. The difference between S mode and all the others (H, A and B) is that in S mode the
maximum rated speed is 1800 ( ± 50 ) rpm, instead in the others is 2000 ( ± 50 ) rpm.
In order to get a constant rated speed, the Mechatro will change the position of the governor
motor depending on the actual load of the engine, in the following way:

S mode
1) Governor motor is at its 60-65 % of its maximum stroke if the engine is not loaded;
2) the more is the engine load, the more is the percentage;
3) with maximum engine load, the percentage is 80-85 %.

H, A and B modes
1) Governor motor is at its 80-85 % of its maximum stroke if the engine is not loaded;
2) the more is the engine load, the more is the percentage;
3) with maximum engine load, the percentage is 95-100 %.

AUTO WARM-UP
The function Auto Warm-up is automatically set by factory; when the engine coolant tempera-
ture is lower than 10 °C, automatically as soon as you start the engine, the display will show the
warning ‘WARM’ and the Auto Warm-up procedure will be performed in order to allow the war-
ming up of the engine and of the hydraulic system as follows:

1) engine running at 1050 rpm for 3 minutes without using the pumps
2) engine running at 1050 rpm for 3 minutes with the pumps at medium displacement
3) engine running at 1600 rpm for 5 minutes with the pumps at maximum displacement
4) engine running at 1600 rpm for 10 minutes with the pumps at maximum displacement and
the unloading valves closed (high pressure).

The complete procedure will last 21 minutes, but it can be interrupted in the following cases:
a) as soon as the operator moves any lever or pedal (the procedure will restart if the levers are
put in neutral for more than 10 seconds);
b) as soon as the engine coolant will reach 70 °C for at least 1 minute.

LOW TEMPERATURE MODE


The purpose of Low temperature mode is to prevent hydraulic hunching at low temperatures.
Mechatro will reduce the total flow only for ARM-OUT operation (using only the P2 pump flow).
Conditions: everytime the ignition key is off for more than 3 hours, low temperature mode will
be active; it means that automatically as soon as the operator starts the engine (if it was off
for more than 3 hourss), the fucntion is active and it will be deactivated only after 5 minutes of
working.

GRID HEATER CONTROL
If the temperature is higher than -3 °C, the grid heater is not working;
if the temperature is between -15 °C and -3 °C, then the Pre-heating will be active for 10 se-
conds and the post-heating for 60 seconds;
if the temperature is lower than -15 °C, then the pre-heating will last 15 seconds and the post-
heating 120 seconds.

The Grid heater will be always off during the cranking phase.

3) Function
a. It processes signals by communication between the gauge cluster and the mechatro controller, displays
them in lamps, displays them in LCDs and actuates the buzzer.
b. It outputs coolant temperature signals, fuel level signals and panel switch signals to the mechatro
controller through the communication port.
