○ Characteristics and history
Yokohama National University(YNU) was established in
1949, when the Kanagawa Normal School, the Kanagawa
Prefectural Training Institution for the Teachers of
Supplementary Vocational Education, the Yokohama
College of Economics, and the Yokohama Institute of
Technology were unified into a university.
Today, YNU consists of 10,000 students and 1,000
faculty and administrative staff. Located in the Tokyo-
Yokohama Metropolitan area, Yokohama National
University prides itself in providing a favorable
environment for academic studies. It also provides
students with opportunities to experience culture and art.

course for Teacher Training Students

The university offers a variety of specialized fields for
visiting teacher training program students to cope with
their needs.

Students will take the following Japanese language lessons.
a)Japanese language training course Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho) Scholarship
This course will be offered for 6 months from October 2019 students who wish to stay in university
to March 2020. accommodations can stay at the YNU Tokiwadai
b) Supplementary course International Residence (From March 2019).
After the first 6 months, students can take supplementary Tokiwadai International Residence (Shared unit type)
Japanese classes based on their choices and abilities, for the
remaining one year. Deposit ¥54,000 Rent and utilities/month ¥51,460
Equipment Bed, desk, chair, air-conditioner, fridge etc.
