Information Note for Participants

6th Meeting of the Expert Group on ICT Household Indicators (EGH) and
9th Meeting of the Expert Group on Telecommunication/ICT Indicators (EGTI)
16-19 October 2018

ITU headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, has three interlinked buildings: Montbrillant, the Tower and Varembé.
To access these buildings, you need a security badge (swipe card) which is issued during registration in the
Montbrillant building.

Room C, ITU Tower building, Level-2 (second basement).

On-site registration and badging

On-site registration and badging for the Expert Group on Telecommunication/ICT Indicators (EGTI) and the Expert
Group on ICT Household Indicators (EGH) Meetings will begin at the Montbrillant Building of ITU headquarters,
Geneva, Switzerland, as from Tuesday, 16 October 2018 at 07:30 hours.

Delegates should present their confirmation message, together with an official photo ID to receive their badge.

Internet
You can access the ITU wifi using the code: itu@GVA1211.
The cybercafé area is located on Level-2 of the ITU Tower building.

Restaurants
 Ground floor of the ITU Varembé building.
There is also a restaurant at the CICG (Centre International de Conférences Genève) next to ITU.

Public transport
From the train station “Cornavin”, Tram 15 will take you to the “Place des Nations” stop which is in front of the
ITU Montbrillant building where the registration will take place.

Bus 8 (near the ITU Tower, “UIT” stop) will take you to and from the railway station “Cornavin”.
From the airport, Bus 5 takes you to the “Place des Nations” stop.

Ticket machines are available at tram and bus stops.

Hotels provide, free of charge, a “Geneva Transport Card” for the length of your stay. This personal card allows
you to take the tram, bus and train in Geneva without paying.

In the luggage claim area of the Geneva International Airport, you can get an 80-minute ticket free of charge for a
ride on the train, bus or tram to the place of your accommodation.

Accommodation
Delegates may benefit from special terms in a number of hotels in Geneva (see list at

The Ibis Genève Centre Nations and Hotel Residence les Nations are within short walking distance from ITU. Other
hotels not far from ITU are: N’vY, Auteuil-Manotel, Cornavin, Royal-Manotel, Warwick, Bernina Genève, Drake &
Longchamp, International & Terminus, Jade-Manotel, Suisse.

There is public transport (tram or bus) near the above hotels that takes you very close to ITU.
