The Truth
A Weekly Bulletin Thu. Mar. 22nd 2007

T he believers are only those who believe in Allah and His Messenger,
then they doubt not, and struggle hard with their wealth and their lives
in the way of Allah; they are the truthful ones.
Holy Qur’an (49:15)

Word of Wisdom “He who travels in search of knowledge, to

him God shows the way to Paradise.”
Prophet Muhammed (Peace Be Upon Him and His Purified Progeny)

“Patience is of two kinds: patience over what pains you, and pa-
tience against what you covet.”
Imam Ali (AS)
Article In Search of True Beauty
“... Ibn Mas’ud narrates: I once saw
Prophet Muhammed crying, and so I asked him the reason. He
replied: I cry because of the compassion I have for these sinful
people (of my community) ...”
Throughout his lifetime, Prophet Muhammed (PBUH&HP) delivered
many of his teachings and recommendations through instances, which
addressed Amir al-Mu’minin and his close companions like Abu Dharr,
Salmaan, and Ibn Mas’ud. As we approach the commemoration of the
demise of the Holy Prophet, let us ponder over some of the teachings
Prophet Muhammed (PBUH&HP) conveyed to Ibn Mas’ud:
In his speech Prophet Muhammed (PBUH&HP) elaborates on sinning
and its effects:
“O Ibn Mas’ud! Be aware of the intoxication of sins. Just as how
wine is intoxicating, sins have similar effects.”

Rights in Islam RIGHTS OF WOMB RELATIVES
A Selection from “The Treatise on Rights
(Risalat Al-Huquq)” by Imam Ali Al-Sajjad (AS)
[22] The right of your mother is that you know that she carried you
where no one carries anyone, she gave to you of the fruit of her heart
that which no one gives to anyone, and she protected you with all her
organs. She did not care if she went hungry as long as you ate, if she
was thirsty as long as you drank, if she was naked as long as you were
clothed, if she was in the sun as long as you were in the shade. She
gave up sleep for your sake; she protected you from heat and cold, all
in order that you might belong to her. You will not be able to show her
gratitude, only through God’s help and giving success.

For the intoxicated man loses his perception and cannot see, hear
or even think correctly; and a sinner cannot distinguish between those,
which are beneficial or harmful (for his prosperity). Therefore the Proph-
et recited the following verse to confirm his point:
“They are deaf, dumb, and blind, so they do not return (to the
Right Path).”(2:18)
Then, the Prophet continued to explain and clarify how the sinful per-
ceive their surroundings, and he recited the following verse:
“Surely We have made whatever is on the earth an embel-
lishment for it.” (18:7)
The Prophet is implying that those sinful people are actually unaware
of their true beauty and embellishment. They misinterpret that which is
not their true beauty, as beauty...
Of course earth’s embellishment will be lost very soon and leave every
person; as our Great Lord tells us:
“And most surely We will make what is on it bare ground
without herbage.”(18:8)
The question therefore arises on what the true beauty of man is. It
is an eternal beauty that lasts before, during, and even after death.
Therefore, if man dedicates his entire life to the material goods (i.e. his
house, furniture, garden), he will not only have surrendered all of his
belongings to the ephemeral and temporary life on earth, but without
knowledge and piety, he will have also spent his life in useless misery.
In another section of his speech Prophet Muhammed (PBUH&HP) re-
cited the following to clarify what were meant by false embellishments:
“The love of desires, such as: women and sons and hoarded
treasures of gold and silver and well bred horses and cattle and
farms, is made to seem beautiful to men; this is the provision
of the life of this world; and Allah is He with Whom is the good
return.”(3:14)
Say: Shall I tell you what is better than these (materialistic
funds)? For those who remained pious are gardens with their
Lord, beneath which rivers flow, to abide in them, and pure
mates and Allah’s pleasure; and Allah sees the servants.” (3:15)
Allah (SWT) has identified the beauties, which derive from sensual
desires and love of wealth as beauties that will be lost; and He has said
that the everlasting beauty of the hereafter is better than the un-
stable affairs of the world. The best beauties therefore lie within Allah’s
(SWT) hereafter and His unique spiritual blessings...
Many years ago beyond decades and centuries, my Prophet has
thought of me and my prosperity, so on this day let us hear from him
and his pure progeny and submit to them ..

Anecdote Being Kind to Children
The Holy Prophet Muhammed (S.A.) was very
kind to children and loved them very much .One day, he placed his two
grandchildren, Al-Hassan and Al-Husayn, on his lap and began kissing
and cuddling them. A man who was passing by saw what the Prophet
(S.A.) was doing, and became very surprised. “I have ten children,” he
said .And I have not kissed even one of them. The Prophet heard what
this hard-hearted man said and became very annoyed. “I do not think
this man will attain paradise, “he said.
Our Holy Prophet loved children. He used to carry them on his shoul-
ders. The children would become very happy and laugh. The Prophet,
too, would become happy at the pure happiness and laughter of the
children and a smile would appear on his face. Our Holy Prophet used to
give his Salam to children and would tell his companions:
“I give my Salam to children and respect them, and Muslims should
follow my behaviour and always be warm and loving with children.”
The Holy Prophet Muhammed (S.A.) used to speak about children
– boys and girls – and say:
“O Muslims, O father and mother, O my followers, be kind and com-
passionate towards children, for someone who is not kind to children
has no place amongst the Muslims.”
Our Holy Prophet was kind to children and became happy at
their pure and innocent laughter.

[23] The right of your father is that you know that he is your root.
Without him, you would not be. Whenever you see anything in yourself
which pleases you, know that your father is the root of its blessing upon
you. So praise God and thank Him in that measure. And there is no
strength except in God.
[24] The right of your child is that you should know that he is from
you and will be ascribed to you, both through his good and his evil, in the
immediate affairs of this world. You are responsible for what has been
entrusted to you, such as educating him in good conduct (husn al-adab),
pointing him in the direction of his Lord, and helping him to obey Him.
So act towards him like the one who knows that, he will be rewarded for
doing good, and punished for his wrongdoings, towards him.
[25] The right of your brother is that you know that he is your hand,
your might, and your strength. Take him not as a weapon with which to
disobey God, nor as an equipment with which to wrong God’s creatures.
Do not neglect to help him against his enemy or to give him good coun-
sel. If he obeys God, well and good, but if not, you should honor God
more than him. And there is no strength except in God.

Science Quran & Biology
The Honey Bee
The Holy Quran introduces us to an incredible number of miracles
that are related to modern science. As we read in the Holy Quran, we
do not notice the importance of many facts that are present in it and
which relate to present scientific discoveries. For example, the chapter
(Sura) about the bee (Nahl) initiates an amazing phenomenon that is
associated with biology. Although the Sura talks about many interesting
facts and issues, God chose that name because of its importance. The
bees are one of the miracles of God. We should look at them, learn from
them and remember to say (Subhana Allah) God be Glorified. This is a
gift from God and it is His Will to provide us with these beautiful crea-
tures to serve us.
Chapter The Bee (Surat An-Nahl) is positioned as the 16th from the
beginning of the Holy Quran. Biologists determined that 16 is the num-
ber of gender chromosomes in the male bee. Also, 32, which is propor-
tional to 16 is the number of gender chromosomes in the female bee. If
we count the number of verses in the Sura (The Bee), we obtain 128;
which is also proportional to 32 as well as to 16.
I discovered that, 32 which is the number of gender chromosomes in
the female bee also represents the temperature in Celsius to their (Bees)
central brood nest regardless of whether the outside temperature is
110 or -40 degrees Celsius. I also discovered that 16 (honey bee’s male
chromosomes) symbolize their average travel speed in miles per hour.
These miracles are in God’s Final Holy Book to mankind, the Quran,
which has never been changed or modified. The Holy Quran gives us,
human beings, an amazing amounts of miracles that are related to the
daily facts of science. But still, The Quran is reserving a huge quantity
of fundamental phenomena that are incredible and astonishing to the
human’s mind, some, are still to be found.

Sayings Sayings of Prophet Muhammed (P)

Charity
1. A man who gives one piece of silver in alms in his lifetime is better
for him than giving one hundred when he’s about to die.
2. To meet friends cheerfully and invite them to a feast are charitable
acts.
3. To extend consideration towards neighbors and send them presents
are charitable acts.
Education
1. To acquire knowledge is binding upon all Muslims, whether male or
female.
2. The ink of the scholar is more holy than the blood of the martyr.
3. He who travels in search of knowledge, to him God shows the way
to Paradise.
4. Acquire knowledge, because he who acquires it, in the way of the
Lord, performs an act of piety; who speaks of it praises the Lord;
who seeks it, adores God, who dispenses instruction in it, bestows
alms; and who imparts it to its fitting objects, performs an act of
devotion to God.
5. Knowledge enables its possessor to distinguish what is forbidden
from what is not; lights the way to Heaven; it is our friend in the
desert, our companion in solitude, our companion, when bereft of
friends; it guides us to happiness; it sustains us in misery; it is our
ornament in the company of friends; it serves as an armor against
our enemies.
6. With knowledge the creatures of Allah rises to the heights of good-
ness and to noble position, associates with the sovereigns
in this world and attains the perfection of happiness in the
next.
Envy
1. Keep yourselves far from envy, because it eats up and
takes away good actions, like the fire that eats up and
burns wood.
Suppression of Anger
1. Whoever suppresses his anger, when he had
the power to show it, God will give him a
great reward.
2. He is not strong and powerful, the one
who throws people down, but the
strong is the one who withholds
himself from anger.

Poetry On the Departure of Prophet (S)

The last breaths that the Beloved takes;

Zahra, shall spend the night awake.
How can sleep drift onto her eyes ?
When blood flows from the seven skies.
Why does the night seem so long ?
Why are the birds not singing tonight ?

Why has pain filled Zahra’s heart ?

Why does the moon seem to cry ?
Tonight, is the last night of living for the Prophet;
Tonight, is the beginning for the sufferings of Ali.
Tonight the sky consoles Zahra,
Tonight Khadija greets her Muhammed.

What happened after your departure ?

Zahra, your part of body,

Shall be injured by the door.
Ali, your brother like Harun to Moses,
Shall be martyred on Masjid of Kufa’s floor.
Hassan, your fountain of love,
Will be sprinkled with arrows,
on his funeral.

Zainab, whom you named with love,

Shall witness the greatest tragedy of life.
Hussain, who played with your hair,
Shall be lying on (Karbala) Naynawa’s sand,
With spears piercing his chest.
Ah . . . Don’t leave O’ Prophet,
Your household shall see no bliss.
