IN THE FOURTH JUDICIAL DISTRICT COURT

UTAH COUNTY, STATE OF UTAH

STATE OF UTAH, INFORMATION

Plaintiff,

vs.

CHRISTOPHER WAYNE CLEARY Case No. _________________

2910 W 34th Ave
Denver, CO 802113238 Judge: ___________________

DOB: 06/18/1991 OTN: 57894230

Defendant.

The State of Utah, by and through Mariane OBryant, Deputy Utah County
Attorney, charges the defendant with the commission of the following offense:

COUNT 1: THREAT OF TERRORISM, a second degree felony, in violation of Utah

Code Ann 76-5-107.3(1)(a), in that on or about January 19, 2019, in Utah County, the
defendant, Christopher Wayne Cleary did threaten to commit any offense involving
bodily injury, death, or substantial property damage, and
(a) threatened the use of a weapon of mass destruction, as defined in Utah Code Section
76-10-401; or
(b) threatened the use of a hoax weapon of mass destruction, as defined in Utah Code
Section 76-10-401.
PROBABLE CAUSE STATEMENT: Jonathan Orgill of the Provo Police Department,
having probable cause to believe that the defendant committed the above-listed offense,
submitted the following evidence in support of the filing of this Information: On January
19, 2019 officers received information from Colorado that the defendant, a Colorado
resident was threatening a mass shooting on Facebook and officials were unsure if the
defendant was in Colorado or Utah. The IP address came back to Provo where officers
were able to locate the defendant. The posts included the defendant's name and two
pictures with which officers were able to identify the defendant. Officers were
particularly concerned about the threats as the defendant was threatening to shoot, in a
public place, as many girls/women as he could see and there were several women's
marches scheduled in Provo.

The defendant is on felony probation with Colorado for stalking and threatening women.

The defendant is being held without bail.

Based upon evidence received from Jonathan Orgill of the Provo Police Department, I
have reason to believe the defendant committed the offense as charged herein.

Authorized for presentment and filing this 24th day of January, 2019.
