(Vp and Vs) obtained from down hole survey provided that the density ,ɣm or , of the soil/rock layers
is provided, by using the following equations:

The Poisson’s ratio …………………………………………………………………………………..………..……(1)

The Shear Modulus ………………………………………….……………………….………..……..…..(2)

The Young’s Modulus ……………………………………….…………………………….………....……(3)

∗ ∗
The Bulk modulus …………………………………………………………………..…….………………….…….(4)

Where:
= Poisson’s ratio
= compressive wave velocity, m/s
= Shear wave velocity, m/s
= Dynamic shear modulus, MPa
= soil density, t/m3, derived from laboratory test
= Dynamic Young’s modulus, MPa
= Dynamic bulk modulus, MPa
A single RAS be used for 24 channels refraction or reflection surveys of multiple units may be connected
together to perform 240 channels surveys with CDP or 3D surveys up to 10 line.
The soil downhole seismic survey results reported in the report Volume-II.

5.11 Soil Resistivity

Soil/rock resistivity gives a composite measure of moisture content of soil and dissolved electrolytes in
the soil water. It is commonly measured by the 4 (four) pin/electrode Wenner arrangement (see Figure
1) in which portable instrumentation applies a direct electric current, I , between two outer pins (current
electrode) through the soil and induces a potential drop, V, between two inner pins (potential electrode)
contacts
The resistivity survey is conducted by injecting low frequency direct electric current into ground through
two current electrodes (C1 and C2). The potential difference was measured through two other potential
electrodes (P1 and P2). Electrical resistivity of soils and rocks varies widely and changes seasonally.
Resistivity sounding which is able to record up to 10m depth measuring at 6 spacing increments , i.e., :
1m, 2m, 3m, 4m, 5m, and 10m. The results is shown in Appendix A.8. The Vertical sounding with
WENNER electrodes arrangement was used in this testing. The schematic representation of the Wenner
electrodes arrangement is as shown in Figure 3.
