 In addition to the above concepts, real
life concepts and information will be
included in the course in all areas.
Students will learn through a carefully
selected combination of text book, DVD,
electronic board, and hands-on lab work,
the bulk of the course. Bench systems for
hands-on training include a split cooler
typically found in a convenience store,
three walk in cooler systems, ice
machine, and residential AC units, roof
top commercial units, and both gas and
electric heaters. They will also spend
time in our off-premise welding facility to
learn live gas heat repair, copper brazing
techniques and coil cleaning. The final
two weeks of the course are installation
and troubleshooting, troubleshooting and
troubleshooting! We want our graduates
to feel comfortable repairing these sys-
tems when they graduate, and repetition
is a great teacher! Our students will have
the confidence when they take their first
job that they know these systems, and
how they work, and that they have been
taught real world repair, and they have
been taught right! It is a top priority of
the Academy to achieve a learning expe-
rience for each student that sends them
into the HVAC field with the confidence
that they will succeed, and that their lives
can improve because of the training
received, and the opportunities available
to them in the field of work they have
chosen.
You will receive weeks of intensive
training, including book, board, video,
and heavy hands-on training on actual
systems, from repair, troubleshooting and
parts replacement on working systems
exactly like the student will find in the
field. There will be both live demonstra-
tions and study material on all systems in
the scope of the course, with an emphasis
on hands-on training. You will also study
for your national EPA-HVAC Universal
Exam, which qualifies you to work in the
HVAC field in all 50 states. You will
have studied HVAC repair and trouble
shooting for many weeks when you have
completed training, and it will show to
future employers and customers.

Housing and Jobs
Housing Program for Out of Area Students

Housing programs are available, at a cost of $3995,

which includes program length stay at a small resort hotel
100 yards off the beach, located within walking distance
of the beach, fishing pier, water sports, town center,
hotels, restaurants, bars, drug stores, grocery stores, and
more. Students will get a private room with maid service,
laundry facilities, pool area, BBQ area, and more...

Job Placement

Most schools talk about job placement assistance, but we start on it the very first day of
school! Every student will have a resume completed before graduation, which will be sent
to a minimum of three dozen AC companies in the zip code in which the student wishes
to find work. These resumes will be sent out by the school, complete with a letter of
recommendation from the Dean of Students, and signed by their teachers, encouraging
employers to interview and hire the student. We also give students extra copies of their
resume to continue the job seeking efforts after graduation, and we even have as part of
the class a portion that teaches the student how to interview, give outstanding answers to
popular questions generally asked, and how to impress potential employers.

Certification

All students who successfully complete the program will receive certification from
South Florida Academy of AC in HVAC Technician study, as well as National
Certification through the EPA in HVAC good in all 50 states. As we are an approved
testing center for the EPA 608 National HVAC exam, students will study for and take the
National HVAC test, and recive all three National EPA Certifications, right in the same
classroom that the balance of the course is taught.
Starting Date
Classess are held four times a
year. Classes go Monday through
Thursday, from 9am to 4pm. and
Friday from 9am to noon. Financing and
tuition payment must be completed prior
to beginning classes.
A $250 non refundable deposit is
required to hold your spot for the upcom-
ing class, as well as a student application
on file, enclosed with this package. Because
we are usually oversold, last minute appli-
cations are not a good idea. Please send in
all loan and student applications early to
ensure your place in class, and the begin-
ning of your new career!
Tools
All tools, supplies, pens, pencils, note-
books, exams and study materials needed
for class are provided by the school, the
student will only need tools when he/she
starts a job after graduation.
Dress Code
Dress is Florida casual, which usually
means shorts, jeans, casual shirts and any-
thing within reason that the student finds
comfortable. When we begin copper braz-
ing, students will be required to wear long
pants and thicker shirts to class, which will
be announced prior to the welding portion
of the class beginning.
Extra Curricular Activities
One of the biggest advantages we have
is that we are geographically located in one
of the most beautiful places in Florida!
Students who are out of state will be here
for weeks, so why not enjoy it? Weekends
can be spent fishing, boating, swimming,
surfing, sailing, tanning, laying poolside, jet
skiing, parasailing, exploring the
Florida Keys, South Beach,
Palm Beach, and more.
