 This feature is Part of the delivery process to be communicated with customer and
upon approval will proceed for the FNI.

2 Purpose and Requirements

To do Rollout for the subjected features on 2G NW with customer approval


as well Roll out based on requirement.

2.1 Customer requirement and acceptance standards

 After midnight as per customer regulation >> 00:00~08:00 AM

 Outage window from 00:02~00:05AM allowed by customer

 Outage window Huawei engineer will apply 02:30 to 03:00

2.2 Change scenario

 Network tuning will have the following benefit to the network.


EDA

 EDA helps assign more timeslots in the uplink to the MS, improving the uplink
throughput.

Benefits

 This feature improves the uplink rate and helps transmit large amount of data in the
uplink. In this way, the user satisfaction is improved.

High Speed Multislot

 High multislot classes ensure that a maximum of five timeslots in the uplink or
downlink are assigned to a single MS, improving the uplink or downlink throughput
of a single MS.

Benefits

 The BSS supports the MS with a high multislot class of 30 to 34. A maximum of five
timeslots on the downlink can be assigned to an MS. If an MS is of the high multislot
class 34, a maximum of five timeslots in the uplink can be assigned to the MS.
Therefore, compared with four timeslots in the uplink or downlink, the throughput
is increased by 25%.

2.3 Change scope & scale

 Feature would be implemented on above 12 BSCs.

 For FNI BSC AH2GB06 has been selected.

4.2 Check of Equipment Running

 The owner of reporting the KPIs & performance reports are the Huawei

performance team.

 To achieve successful operation we are following the below points once

operation completed.

 The performance KPIs must be checked every one hour after the MDT done
until 6:00 AM (MDT Activity Timings)

Activation Observation

1. If the Extended Dynamic Allocation (EDA) (per 64Kbps) license is used:

 On the BSC LMT, initiate PTP message tracing over the Gb interface. Use an MS to
dial a number.

Expected result: In the traced ACTIVE PDP CONTEXT ACCEPT message, the
value of "gprs-extended-dynamic-allocation-capability" or
"egprs-extended-dynamic-allocation" is 1.

 Initiate PS message tracing over the Um interface by referring to BSC6900 GSM


LMT User Guide or BSC6910 GSM LMT User Guide.
 Use an MS to download data in the test cell.
 Double-click the traced Packet Downlink Assignment message to query the value of
the "timeslot-allocation" IE
Expected result: In the binary bitmap for the "timeslot-allocation" IE, the number of 1s reaches
the maximum number of downlink timeslots supported by the high multislot capability of the
MS.

5.3 Solution for Changeback In the Case of Failure

5.3.1 Definition of Change Failure

 Implementer will recognize the change failure which cannot be


resolved before 5:00 AM
 The dial test shows that calls cannot be made successfully
