Success criteria 1. Pupils are able to point to 2 to 4 character names when they hear them
correctly.
2. Pupils are able to come in front, be one of the characters and say the
chant.
3. Pupils are able to introduce themselves by using the chant.

Activities Set Induction


1. Teacher points to herself and say her name.
2. Ask pupils to stand up.
3. Elicit his/her name from the students. Use L1 to prompt the student’s
response if necessary.
4. Repeat with about six students.
Activity 1
1. Get the students to look at the picture in their Student’s books.
2. Play the audio recording (track 02 cd1).
3. Students point to the character names when they hear them.
4. Play recording again.
5. Point to the names / pictures in turn. Students say the names.
6. Students practise pointing and naming in pairs.

Activity 2
1. Students look at the chant.
2. Play the recording. Students listen and follow the chant in their
Superminds.
3. Play the recording again, pausing after each line for students to repeat.
4. Practise the chant as a class.
5. Invite four students to come to the front of the class.
6. Give each one a character name and they do the chant.
7. Repeat with other students.

Activity 3
1. Invite a pair of students to the front of the class.
2. Prompt them to do the chant using their real names.
3. Repeat with two more pairs of students.
4. Make pairs. Students practise the chant, taking turns to start.
5. Do mingling activity, introducing themselves to the students in the class
using the chant.

Closure
1. Say again the chant together where every student will say the chant using
their real names.
