Limitations due to change of the network controller on the main controller PCB assembly

Description:
The main controller PCB assembly is changed due to the discontinuance of the network controller currently in use.
The new main controller PCB assembly needs to be used in combination with the system software (MN-CONT) that
supports the new network controller.

Service Work
Even when the main controller PCB assembly is replaced on a machine having a serial number indicated in the
following Countermeasure Cut-in Serial Numbers in Factory, the current main controller PCB assembly can be used.
The system software on machines having used the new main controller PCB assembly supports the current main
controller PCB assembly as well. However, it is recommended, after replacement of the board, to update the system
software to the latest version.

Service Precaution
The current main controller PCB assembly (with the old network controller mounted)
- Can be used in combination with any of the new system software and the old system software.
- Is continued to be supplied as a service part.

The new main controller PCB assembly (with the new network controller mounted)
- Is installed to new products as they are manufactured.
- Can be used in combination with the new system software.
- Is not supplied as a service part.

[How to identify the new and old main controller PCB assemblies]
With the following method, the old and new main controller PCB assemblies can be distinguished.
(1) Press the Check Counter button on the machine control panel, and check the main controller version on the Check
Device Configuration screen.
New type: "9" or later

(2) Check the part number label attached to the main controller PCB assembly.
The new type is indicated with "(001)" at the end of the part number.

[For combination with the new main controller PCB assembly and the old system software]
The network controller does not function properly, and therefore the network connection functions in general cannot
be used. Two error messages shown in the table "List of display messages by destination" are alternately displayed.

The setting for disabling the network error message can be made in Additional Function Mode and Service Mode.
When this setting is enabled, the above error messages are not displayed. On iR-ADV 4200 series in particular, the
setting for disabling the network error message is enabled by default.

In order to display the error messages, be sure to change the following setting.
There is no need to restart the machine after a change is made to the Additional Function Mode and Service Mode
settings. The change is reflected immediately.
