RTUtil560 Configuration
Chapter 6

RTUtil560 Configuration
Engineering steps
The engineering of RTU560 data contains several dependency steps that demand a
sequence in the data engineering process.
The basic data engineering steps are:
1. Project configuration
2. Build up the tree structures
 Build up station network topology in the Network Tree
 Definition of all RTUs, I/O modules within RTUs and IEDs in the Hardware Tree
 The link steps in the Hardware tree to build up relations between the trees
 Link RTUs and IEDs from the Network to the Hardware tree
 Definition of data points in Signal Tree
 Link all data points

3. Set parameters, addresses

 Set the addresses of the process data points
 Set single parameters for several tree objects

4. Start the consistency check

5. Build the RTU-files for each RTU
6. Download generated files to all RTUs

RTUtil560 Configuration
Engineering steps, Project configuration

 Initialize Signal Tree:

Maximal length of a process data name is

32 characters.

It is important to leave empty field for last

level (level for naming Data points)!!!

Number of characters for last level should

be greater than 0.

In this case we have 17 characters left for

naming Data points
