Course Description An in depth study of the nature, kinds and effects of
obligations and their extinguishment; contracts in general,
their requisites, form and interpretation; defective
contracts, quasi-contracts, natural obligations; and
estoppel.

Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the semester, the students should be able to:
a. State and explain the nature, kind and effects of obligations and their
extinguishment; contracts in general, their requisites, form and interpretation;
defective contracts, quasi-contracts, natural obligations; and estoppel;
b. Use and apply the law, the legal and equitable principles, as well as
jurisprudence in assessing, analyzing and resolving issues and legal problems
in obligations and contracts.
c. Draw from the assigned cases, research and group work particular lessons and
insights that would serve to strengthen their legal skills, critical thinking and
social awareness about the importance of the laws on obligations and
contracts and that they may also serve as mediums to educate their
community and peers concerning the importance of good faith and
compliance with obligations.
