L_Revised as on DTD. 16.01.2002
Dimensions of the fittings shall be as per drawings enclosed. Vendor shall obtain approval for any
deviation,
SPECIAL NOTE:
1. Return bends shall be produced with # consistantly uniform OD surface finish.
2. The inside surface of the cast fittings shall be machined or honed to 1.6 micrometers (63 RMS)
average roughness in order to reduce carburisation effects. The fittings inside surfaces shall be
cleaned after machining to remove all oil, chips, etc
3. Static cast fitting cross section macrostructure shall consist of a shallow equiaxed structure (medium
to fine grains) at both the fitting ID and OD surface areas. The remaining cross section area shall be
columnar, The statis casting procedure must be proof tested (by producing sample casts for
destructive testing) to verify that the casting process procedure resulis in an acceptable macrostructure
as defined
4. All statically cast bends shall be 100% radiographed and examined in accordance with ASME Code
Section VIII, Division-I. Appendix -7 and should show quality equal to or better than Severity
Level I for all Imperfection Categories according to ASME SE-446
5. Dimension of the fittings shall be as per drawings enclosed. Vendor shall obtain approval for any
deviation
Test to be carried out by manufacturer and witnessed by Third Party for Centrifugally cast HP 40
