Installation instructions for eBook Applications firmware for Sony Reader PRS‐

350/650/950 
 
Firmware eBook Applications can be installed to Sony devices with following original firmware versions: 
 
PRS‐350 ‐ v.1.0.00.08100 and v.1.0.00.14080,  
PRS‐650 ‐ v.1.0.00.08100 and v.1.0.00.14080,  
PRS‐950 ‐ v.1.0.00.09300 and v.2.0.00.11300. 
Please check your orginal firmware version number at: Main Menu‐>Settings‐>About. 
 
If your firmware is different from the above mentioned versions it is necessary to update your device with one of the versions 
from the above list. 
 
Before doing update  
• check that your device battery is charged more than 50% 
• it is recommended to save data from the device’s memory and format the internal memory 
 
1. Download compressed file for your device  
(PRS350FirmwareInstaller.exe, PRS650FirmwareInstaller.exe or PRS950FirmwareInstaller.exe) 
2. Shut down your device.  
a. When using original firmware:  
Settings→Complete Shut Down→ Yes 
b. When using eBook Applications firmware: 
Main Menu → Se ngs → Shut Down → √ 
3. Connect device to USB. Wait when device is connected. 
4. Launch compressed file. After unpacking, firwmare update process should start. 
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
 
   
   
 
5. Press Install to lunch installation. After all files is copied to device you will see notification that installation process is 
complete. Press OK and disconnect device from USB 
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
 
   
 
6. Wait till original firmware is loaded by device, then make a full shut down (Settings → Shut Down → Yes) 
7. Turn on your Reader. After few seconds eBook Applications firmware will launch. 
 
 
In order to remove eBook Applications fimware from the device it is necessary to connect it to USB and remove “ebook 
applications” and “test‐startup” (if exists) folders from the internal memory.
