for. by observing students make clear and concise
sentences.

V. Materials:

● Construction Paper
● Black Markers
● Brainstorm Paper with what they are thankful for

VI. Pre-Lesson assignments and/or prior knowledge:


The students will be read a book about Thanksgiving. The teacher will talk about how on
Thanksgiving it is important to share what we are grateful for.

VII. Lesson Beginning:


We are going to hook the kids into the lesson by telling them that we are going to pretend
to be pilgrims. Once their imagination starts to roll, we can continue explaining what the
main traditional food we eat on Thanksgiving. Inside that turkey, we are going to draw
who or what we are thankful for. Than on the wings of the turkey, we will write what we
are thankful for.
VIII. Instruction Plan:
1. Students will be put into three groups of 7 and one group of 8.
2. Construction paper will be passed out in colors of red.
3. Next black markers will be passed around.
4. The students will trace their hands with these black markers
5. After tracing their hands, they will draw what or who they are thankful for.
6. Then, on the wings of the turkey, a teacher will help them write what or who they
are thankful for.
7. After they will cut out the turkey

IX. Conclusion:
Students will share how they liked the activity and if they understood the concept. We
will talk about the importance of Thanksgiving and explain the different things we can be
thankful for everyday.
