• Analysis of the Alignment.

Our group starts the design of any monorail projects with the review of the alignment to make sure the geometric layout fulfills geometric and system requirements of the vehicle supplier, in this case the Nominated Subcontractor.
• Analysis of Structures and Input of Nominated Subcontractor The input of the Nominated Subcontractor will be sought in issues related to Structure types, top surface finishes, expansion joints, and bearings in order to incorporate their vast knowledge into the project.
• Coordination between Design and Nominated Subcontractor.
The Design Team will use the information provided in the bid documents and in Anexo 4 PropuestaTecnicaNSC27JUL2018 by the Nominated Subcontrator as Design Input specifically:

• The Nominated Subcontractor input will be sought after at critical construction levels. In the particular subject of installation of guideway beams, the processes and methods proposed to be used will be shared with the Nominated Subcontractor for comments, however the final responsibility of the quality of the
work product will rest with the Prime Contractor.
• The input of the Nominated Subcontractor will be sought after for the definition of the top riding surface, once the approval of the proposed riding surface has been obtained, it will be the task of the Prime Contractor to produce and deliver the texture selected.
Installation of • Additionally, the review and acceptance of different line segments will be requested as the project progresses. In this manner, input from the Nominated Subcontractor can be taken into account as the projects progresses and not at the end.
Guideway Beams

• The Nominated Subcontrator needs to review and approve Design Criteria for Track-Switch Structure and verify Loading and Deflections stated in that document
• The Nominated Subcontractor shall provide the expansion plates between the precast beams and steel track switches. Design Team shall incorporate the information into the documents to ensure no interferences occure
• If the adjacent beam is installed prior to the installation of the track-switch, the Prime contractor shall prepare an installation inspection registry for the review and approval of the Nominated Subcontractor
• The Nominated Subcontractor shall survey the top deck of the track switches and verify tolerances are met prior to installation of the Track Switch components
Track-Switches

• Tolerance Discrepancies If there are any tolerance discrepancies, the beams shall be ground to size, and the discrepancies communicated to the design engineers and the Nominated Subcontractor.
• Out of Tolerance Beams. Any guideway beams, either precast or steel switch beams, shall meet the required tolerances. Any beams that do not meet these criteria shall be adjusted using methods approved by the Owner and Nominated Contractor
Beam Rejection. A beam shall be rejected if the tolerances required by the Nominated Subcontractor are not met.
Beam Tolerances

QA checklist will be developed and shared with the Nominated Subcontractor for review and concurrence.
• QA checklists shall record beam positions, ambient temperatures, humidity, and tolerances specified by the Nominated Subcontractor
QA/QC Procedures

• Finishes shall comply with required characteristics specified by the Nominated Subcontractor
• The riding surface of the precast concrete guideway beams shall be approved by the Nominated Subcontractor
