Division J Success Plan

Division J Success Plan 2019-2020

Purpose
The Division supports the Toastmasters Brand Promise, “Empowering individuals through personal and
professional development”. To achieve this, I must align resources from the District to the individual

its mission to build new clubs

Goal 1: Education and Training

Description
Supporting members in reaching their education goals is the primary purpose of Toastmasters. Fewer
than 20% of members in the District who have joined Toastmasters in the last five years have earned any
kind of education award, Level 1, CC, CL, etc. It also seems that members who earn awards stick around.

Objectives
3.A Help members reach education goals

3.B Train officers

Key Results
3.A.1 50% of new members complete 1 level within 6 months of joining

3.A.2 30% of base members earn an education award during the program year

3.A.3 20% of members begin the Pathways Mentoring Program

3.A.4 80% of new members have a mentor assigned

3.B.1 90% of clubs earn the DCP point for officer training (4 in summer, 4 in winter)

3.B.2 50% of clubs earn Super 7 at least once

3.B.3 25% of Presidents, VPE, VPM, and VPPR attend supplemental training

Supporting Initiatives
Promote the use of Member Interest Surveys and mentoring

Provide supplemental training opportunities focused on VPE

Promote officer attendance at TLIs

Goal 2: Membership Building and Retention

Description
Goal 1: Education and training cannot occur if clubs do not have members. Healthy clubs recruit and
retain members so that there is a sufficient number of members to fill roles, serve as officers, and bring a
variety of perspectives to other members. Marketing and Public Relations are key components of
membership building and program quality is a key component of retention.

Objectives
1.A Recruit new members

1.B Retain current members

Key Results
1.A.1 Recruit 200 new members

1.A.2 60% of clubs get both DCP points for membership

1.B.1 Retain 70% of current members
