TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
Teaching is an art that blends together discipline and freedom of expression. I believe that all
students are unique and have something special that they can bring to their own education. As a
teacher, it is my responsibility to create a safe, welcoming environment for my students to flourish and
find their passion in order to inspire creativity and exploration. My focus is to create a learner-centred
atmosphere, that is hands-on, interactive and supports deep level understanding of literacy,
numeracy, and life-long competencies.

• Facilitated honest, respectful and cooperative learning environments to maintain a structured
safe classroom.
• Developed creative strategies to work with students on IPPs who required additional support
by creating individualized instruction.
• Encouraged and motivated new learning using technologies, interactive moving around
activities, and engaged in student engagement and participation in class.
• Joined the GSA student lead club and Science club at lunch to support youth.
• Engaged in collaboration with other like minded teachers through PLC development meetings
and problem solving with school staff.

to be successful and confident.

Alpine Ski Racing Coach with Lake Louise Ski Club 2010-2011 & 2015-2016
• Involved in coaching athletes age 7-9 competitive ski racing.
• Instructed athletes to improve their skiing technique, skills, and overall love for skiing.
• Planned ski sessions and did video analysis of athletes performance.
• Alberta Alpine Ski Instructor Certified.
