WHAT IS RAINWATER HARVESTING? 

Rainwater Harvesting is the practice of collecting rainwater run­off from a roof and then storing it for use.  Rainwater harvesting is
environmentally friendly as harvested rainwater may be used for irrigation, laundry, flushing, process water and with additional treatment may be
utilize as drinking water as well.

The Philippines is a tropical country with rain falling almost half of the year.  However, places like Baguio City, despite having ample rain falling,
the country still experiences water shortage during summer.  This is where collecting and managing rainwater can be useful.  Collecting rain and
storing it will ensure that there is water stored for summer use instead of it simply going to waste down the drains causing floods during the rainy
season.

WHERE CAN IT BE USED

Rainwater can be successfully harvested from almost anywhere, from a small house, to a large factory, to a farm, from a school to most
building.  Harvested rainwater can be utilized by almost any industry.  Variable system set­up is available based on the application and/or need. 

UPDATE ON RAINWATER IN THE PHILIPPINES 

The good news is that as of 2015, some cities in the Philippines like Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Mandaluyong, Quezon City have taken the initiative to
adapt and implement Green programs that requires the installation and utilization of a Rainwater Catchment System.  Cities like Baguio and
Cagayan de Oro are not far behind.  The Green Building Code prepared by the DPWH is another program that shows a growing commitment and
realization by the Philippine government of the benefits of Green technologies such as the Rainwater Harvesting / Catchment System.

 GARDEN VORTEX FINE FILTER
The garden rainwater collector (GRS) works like WISY Filter collector
as a downpipe filter. Specially designed for garden rainwater barrels.
For installation in rainwater downspouts/downpipes. Made entirely of

The  integrated  drain  backflow  prevention  is  delivered  with  a  retaining

For  the  extraction  of  rainwater  from  cisterns  and  other  storage
vessels,  ponds  and  wells.  The  floating  ball  is  made  of  ecologically
harmless polyethylene, the other components of stainless steel.
The suction filters consist of a fine or coarse filter mesh with a large
surface  of  stainless  steel.  The  use  of  the  SAFF  or  the  SAGF
increases  the  working  safety  of  the  whole  rainwater  installation.  The
abrasion  of  the  pump  is  reduced  as  well  as  the  contamination  of  the
SAFF or the SAGF filter gives a very low suction resistance, resulting
in the pump developing its optimum degree of effectiveness. 
The  suction  fine  filter  (SAFF)  is  especially  suitable  for  water
extraction from water cisterns without any pre­cleaning in the system.
Commercial,  cheap  non­return  valves  at  the  bottom  of  the  suction
hoses with little sieves may be a risk for pumps and valve which are
down­stream and they might derogate the working safety. The floating
ball allows the suction point to rise and fall with the water and ensures
that  the  water  is  extracted  from  where  it  is  cleanest:  just  below  the
surface of the water. The filter unit prevents the suction of water from
the  layer  of  scrum  (fatty  and  small  dirt  particles)  as  well  as  the
suction of sand and heavy particles from the soil sediment.
