LESSON PLAN HLTH 1202


LESSON ORGANISATION (based on: AC:HLTH)

Intention: By the end of this lesson, students should be able to successfully complete a handball with control

Pre-lesson organisation:
- Check the weather
- Check safety of location (bees/ants/accessibility)
- Bring out equipment and first aid
- Make sure all balls are pumped
- Set up one large 15mx15m area (warm-up)
Equipment: (Based on 24 Students)
- 10x Cones
- 4x Footballs
- Bibs
- Whistle

10:00 Beginning class organization:
(3 mins) • Bring class to designated meeting spot
• Ask who plays football and give an extremely quick debrief about football
• Tell students the ‘intention’ of the lesson
• Choose 2 people to be taggers for the warm up and give them bibs
• Send everyone to the middle of the square already set up and explain warm up

10:13 Bridging organization
(2 mins) • Stop the warm-up with a whistle
• Bring everyone in to a defined meeting spot
• Get the two taggers to bring in 2 cones each and whoever is holding the footballs to bring them in and place in front
of teacher
• Explain the next activity
• Number students 1 – 4 to get into 4 groups of 6
• Choose 1 students from each group to grab a football
• Choose one student from each group to grab 4 cones and set up a 5mx5m square (with teachers’ guidance)

(3 mins) • Get two students to demonstrate their best handball in front of the class
• Ask students what good things they saw the students do in the handball, demonstrating what they learnt
today/KTPs
• Ask students which activity their favorite was, do this by calling out the name of the activity and students raiding
their hands
