1.
Idle speed and ignition timing
Use VAG 1551/2 or equivalent equipment, then follow procedure for checking basic setting.

Longlife oil

Manual transmission
Top up until oil flows from filler hole.
Fit filler plug.
Start engine.
Select a gear and allow gearbox to turn for 2 minutes.
Check oil level and top up if necessary.

4.
Auto shift manual (ASM) transmission
0AM (7 speed) gearbox is filled for life. Oil level cannot be checked.
To confirm gearbox oil quantity after repair, drain and fill as follows:
Ensure selector lever in 'P'.
Disconnect selector lever cable.
Remove lever Fig. 4 [1] .
Remove cover Fig. 4 [2] .
Slowly fill with specified amount.
Fluid which escapes from the Mechatronic unit cannot be replenished and the level cannot
be checked.
