C. Lesson Proper
Pre-Viewing
The teacher will present a picture quotation and asks the students about their ideas they
form out it.
Viewing Proper
The students will watch the film “2012” – a 2009 American science fiction disaster film
directed and co-written by Ronald Emmerich.
Guide Questions:
1. What is the message of the movie?
2. Do you remember a particular scene throughout the film? What is its significance/
importance?
3. What theme underlies the plot?
4. What does the film show about the people and their values?
5. Which part of the film resemble reality?
6. Which part are based on writer’s imagination
7. According to your own understanding, what is the relationship of past events to your
present situation?
8. Elements of Narrative present in the film: Setting, Characters, Conflict, Plot, Theme)
Post Viewing
Directions: Make a short essay about the things you will do at when the world ends entitled
“At the end of the World.”
