Introduction

Internet has became need of everyone.Everytime we want to connect the computers

need internet. It is a main of connecting to computers from all over the world through rooters and

servers. When we connect the computers in internet it can send and receive all kinds of data or

information like text, videos, pictures and other computer programs.

There are so many advantages of internet. Whatever subject it is we can get all types

of information through special website. Many people living all over the world can easily

communicate with each other through internet. With the development of modern technology we

can also see each other through web camera. Through this facility people who live all over the

world will feel closer to each other. Online training from several websites of different colleges and

schools was offered on internet. This is a great benefit for the student or anyone especially for

those people who don’t have a time to go outside and join an institution.

Internet also had disadvantages like for example thief of information, our personal

information like credit card numbers, address, and etc. that misused by the people who had

unsecured connection or by different software for their personal benefit that can lend you into a

big trouble. Social is also a big disadvantage of using internet, most of the people will spend a lot

of time on internet rather than spend their time on their families or on different activities that all

we need and it can cause an internet addiction on you. Cannot take their proper sleep using internet

connection that can cause so many health problems.


Rationale and Background of the study

The internet is a global linking of computers that allows information transfer. Internet was

established in the early 1960’s primarily for student purposes. Since then, the continual

improvement of the internet technology has provided on extra ordinary level of public accessibility

to a wide range of forms of communication intra-organizational and inter-organizational email;

data storage, management and transfer; social websites like Facebook; text messaging such as

twitter, and so forth.

Due to the development and spread of cheaper and more user friendly computer technology

and software [e.g. portable computers, Microsoft word etc.].The use of the internet has increased

dramatically. In 2010 the world’s internet used was 28.7% of the population while this may not

seem like a very portion of the world’s population, the growth in using an internet was

444.8%[internet world starts 2016].

The benefits of internet use, such an access to be needed information, available access news

and event, and the intra-personal communication through email, however, along with phenomenal

growth of the internet and its use.


Definition of terms

Laptop

The term used in this study refers in a portable computer usually battery powered,

small enough to vest on the users lap and having a screen that closes over the keyboard like

an Id.

Facebook

The terms used in this study refers to the popular free social networking website that

allows registered users to create profiles, upload photos and videos, send messages and

keep in touch with friends , families, and colleagues.

Desktop

The term used in this study refers to a personal computer that is designed to fit

conveniently on top of a typically office desk.

Internet

A global system of interconnected computer networks which bear a variety of

information and service.

Student

A person studying to obtain a higher education.


Conceptual framework

The dependent variable is internet usage, which is our primary interest. We attempt to explain this

dependent by independent variable.

Education is a variable that effect internet usage in positive way. People having higher

level of education use internet for work purpose like searching information, research ,

enhancing their knowledge. Students also become aware how to use internet for research

purpose and also for personal communication. Student can access the internet in their

homes, schools, and also public libraries. Teachers can allow their students to access their

point of view information. Internet is also a valuable tool used by the teachers also.
Abstract

The subject are the comparative analysis of internet use and impact on student

performance. Internet addiction, like other well researched addictive behaviors has an

effect on many aspects of a person’s life including academic work performance, physical

and mental health and relationships evidence of internet use and impact has been suggested

by the findings that some internet users spend increasingly in a longer periods of time

online and experience.


Statement of the problem

Since the internet came to the to fore of public attention around 1994, internet has been

obsessed with the scourge of easily accessed online pornography, violence, and hate

speech. Newspaper and magazine articles had feed this fear with titillatiry stories about

pornographic websites, hate group, and online sexual predators [TUROW 1999]. This

perceived abundance of harmful materials has led congress to pass two laws, the

Communication Decency Act [COA], and the Child Online Protection Act [COPA] aims

that criminalizing internet content deemed harmful to minors.


Research Questions

This study aims to provide an understanding of internet use and impact on Senior

High School Student as well as to identify the potential of intervention strategies to

ameliorate internet use and impact on Senior High School.

1. What are the impacts in using internet on Students age from 11 to 19 years old?

2. How many hours per week you do online?

3. How often you do access on internet?


Purpose of study

The main objective of the study is to analyses the internet use and impact on the performance of

the senior high students in Estanza National High school

1. To identify the sources of internet use among senior high students.

2. To examine the effect of internet use on academic performance in senior high students.
Scope and limitation of the study

Due to lack of common definition of internet use and impact universally accepted diagnostic

Criteria for use determining addiction rates, more precise measurement tools for the accurate

assessment of internet use and impact are needed. In addition, the addiction rates and positive or

negative impact of internet use.

This study is conducted an online survey school students between age of 11 to 19 years old in

ENHS students. The survey applied the consensus definition and diagnostic criteria of internet

use and impact to investigate the prevalence of internet use and impact among this cohort of

students. This study differentiated between normal everyday internet use and behaviors and

internet addictive behaviors as well as exploring the impact of those behaviors that may signify

maladaptive use.
Significance of study

Learning is the aspect of development that comets modification of behavior, skills and

knowledge that result practice and experience which sought for quality education.

The generalization of this present study would be a great contribution to the vast knowledge in

relation to students achievements vital result of this investigation could be highly significant and

beneficial specifically to the following;

TO STUDENTS: the internet can be a reliable resource to help them with homework and school

project, things can easily turn downhill when time on the internet overtakes time for study and

school.

TO TEACHERHS: use the internet to supplement their lessons, and a number of prestigious

universities have opened up free online lectures and courses to everyone.

TO SCHOOL: to have a lot of internet connection.
